Happy Barrel Raku kiln: How to build your own barrel raku kiln

To me it's obvious this is a print-on-demand book. It's clear based on the on the high price for a book that's literally 20-some pages. I wanted to give as a gift (hence I can't tell you how great the content is) and couldn't buy the Kindle version, but if you have that option, I suggest it. The layout design of the book is poor. I'm a trained graphic designer, so maybe I'm on my high horse and others won't be as bothered by it. But as a Kindle ebook I feel it would be perfectly fine as is. Hopefully the concepts inside are worth it.

The instructions in this book were easy to follow and the accompanying pictures show the appropriate details. I was able to build a Raku kiln over a weekend with this book as my guide.

Not useful in the least. Detailed plans for a kiln that few can build because it requires welding. Additionally, the design of the proposed kiln is silly. Save you money.

This has great step-by-step explanations and photos. Seeing the pictures of the author--a real ceramic artist--using the kiln himself lends credibility to a DIY kiln. I'm going to try it!
