LUFTRUM AC400 whole house air filter: Solid unit and great buy with coupon
Appears to be really well made of steel and fairly heavy. Not sure why it says 13lbs in the details? So the tiny wheels it has on are appreciated! Looks wise its a minimalist steel box that is designed to blend into the back ground which is fine by me but obviously looks are very YMMV. Controls are very simple: only has a 3 setting knob on top. At its lowest setting its basically silent but low airflow. Next up from that is only mildly louder with moderate airflow, and the last is moderately loud with high airflow. The filter appears to be well made and its claimed to have a lifespan of 6-9 months depending on the air quality. The brand name filter model is LUFTRUM AC400 with the ASIN of B0BNQ6JGFX and runs about $90 at the time of this post. For a filter of its class and claimed run time that is actually OK compared to others though still feels kinda high to me personally. There is a competing brand filter that claims (haven't tried it yet) it will fit into the LUFTRUM AC400 with similar claimed performance for about $50: PUREBURG AC400 Item #: AC400-Replacement, 19.3 x 3 x 7.9 inches. Another brand cryptically called XBWW sells a similar filter for a similar price too. Might give either one a shot when my current filter needs replacement. Replacing the filter is real easy: there is a flip up door held closed with a magnet that you open, slide in the new filter, close the lid, and you're done. Filters have a pull handle built in so they're easy to change. I put my unit into its silent setting and pretty much let it run 24/7 in the time I've owned it for a few weeks now. There have been 0 issues, just the way I like it! If you can get this model with the $100 off coupon this thing is a solid bargain over all. Without it the unit is good on its own merits but doesn't stand out much vs the competition. Other factors such as filter availability in local stores, US warranty service, etc would be factors against this unit vs a Honeywell air filter.

Low noise, looks great.
We have a very large great room with 6 gable dormers that have a 25' height and about 1900 sq. ft. We have cats and dogs and while none of us are allergic to them let's face it animal dander can make odors with multiples. This unit not only cleans the air in the great room but the hallway and other rooms as well! Amazing. Looks good. Runs quiet on low and medium. A little louder on high so I set it there at night.

A Quiet and Effective Air Purifuer
Thie unit has been running in my home for almost a month now. At low and medium speeds you can barely hear it and it does seem to reduce both dust and cooking odors. When I ordered the unit, we were dealing with severe air pollution from wildfires. I measured pm2.5 levels of over 600 (ug/m3) outside and over 300 inside. The day before it arrived a cold fron blew through: the wind blew the smoke away and the rain killed the fires. But that's the second time we've have to deal with that so I want to be prepared for it next time. I've used fans with funace filters attached and we run the HVAC full time to clear the smoke. But the fans are noisy and the HVAC uses a lot of energy. I measured the air flow rate and power consumption (at 120VAC) for each of the three levels: Level 1 draws 13W and has an air flow of about 1.8 cubic meters per minute Level 2 draws 22W and has an air flow of about 2.7 cubic meters per minute Level 3 draws 72W and has an air flow of about 8 cubic meters per minute. Overallr, I'm very happy with this air purifier. The next time the smoke hits, we'll use this in the bedroom, because it is so much quieter.

Luftrum Air Purifier AC400
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOUR PURCHASE: The information below this air purifier is totally inaccurate and contradicts the Manufacturer's information. The weight of this product is 16.3kg gross and 13.15kg net. This is equivalent to 36.86lbs gross and 28.93lbs respectively. It is not 7.41 lbs as described on the website. Cleans 2087 sq ft in ONE HOUR , CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY WHY AMAZON'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION DIFFERS FROM THE MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION. I struggled to get the box into my home because of the inaccurate information on the website, it needs to be corrected . I will update my review after I run the purifier. Update: I unpacked this air purifier two days ago to show it to a friend who is planning on purchasing one and wanted to check the noise level. My 14 month old curious granddaughter immediately removed the knob off the unit as soon as I plugged it into the electrical outlet. This knob is too "child friendly" as far as that is concerned. I'm happy with the low noise level and the unit's performance but as far as the knob, I might have to return the unit in fear the knob might one day disappear. I hope the designer sees this email and comes up with a better design solution to make it difficult for children to remove. Unfortunately I've had to return this air purifier out of concern that I will eventually lose the knob. I've seen there is an upgraded/digital purifier BC600 with swivel wheels released by Luftrum but unfortunately it's not available for purchase in USA, this is disappointing. The AC400 is the old model that's being sold on Amazon and has inaccurate product information. It's not even recognized on the Luftrum website, if you try to register the air purifier on the website the model number would come back as invalid. The question is; why isn't the updated model available for purchase in the USA?

Extremely happy with my LUFTRUM air purifier purchase
Living in the High Desert of California,I wanted to find a way to reduce the dust level and purify the air in my house (I also have three large indoor/outdoor dogs). After much research, I choose this Luftrum model for Large Rooms. Overall, it does a great job as the air is cleaner and the dust level is greatly reduced. While you can hear the machine while using it on high, both the medium and low levels are nearly silent. The machine is very well built and the filter collects a ton of dust using it at any fan speed level. I definitely recommend buying this unit.
