Excellent product
I want to preface this by saying that I originally purchased the AWOL 2500, however, due to shipping issues and timetables I was not able to try it out. With that being said, I don't think I really missed out on anything special, because the experience that I am having with the ViewSonic X2000B is pretty exceptional. I am currently running it on my black wall and it is brilliant to say the least. The brightness is crisp and really makes the color pop on a black wall, even with little ambient lighting, this projector can get the job done for practical uses (don't let these businesses upsell you with features you don't need). I used it for gaming with my PS5, Madden runs smooth as ice at 4K 60Hz, same with NBA 2K. I haven't used the soundbar because I have my own 7.1 stereo system, however, it sounds pretty good when you start up the system. Configuring it was a breeze as well, adjust the height, distance, focus, ad you're done. You can use the keystone features, but I didn't have a use for them. As a first-time practical user, this thing does an almost equivalent job at producing a good picture as my Sony XR OLED...minus the true black contrast. The only issues I am having with this product is getting the remote to work properly, sometimes it cuts the unbit on/off and sometimes you are just left with hitting a useless button, requiring you to manually cut the unit on and off.

Great quality. So-so features
I use this device with an HTPC and multiple other systems. If you imagine that this device can only output from it's two HDMI ports, the experience will be amazing at all times. 4k/60 or 2k/120 - the 120hz is great for gaming and SUPER comparable to other 4K displays running at 60hz in terms of input lag. The input lag when in 4k/60 on the projector is ALMOST bad - it's on the precipice of being manageable and being too overt to use. If you try to use the features on this device that are built in - the smart TV style apps, you will be underwhelmed. Immensely. They also only run in 2k/60 mode. AirPlay audio works amazingly from all Apple devices and can be used regardless of what is displayed on the projector. I expect a lot more, feature-wise, from a device at this price level BUT the pure specs of it - the amazing brightness (NO issues with full sunlight filling the room, still incredibly visible- quite a sight), the CRISP resolution at native 4k, the scalable sizing of the screen built into projectors BUT allowing the unit to be basically right up against the screen/wall... this is great. The only other issue is that if you are running a computer to the unit and you boot up the projector while the PC is on, the projector will display glitch/garbage imagery until you switch from the one input to the other, and then back. This has happened for me on macOS, Windows 10 and Apple mobile devices connected via adapter. Edit: I've settled on using this in macOS and Windows at 1080p/120hz at 12 bit color. It's an incredible experience and hard to notice the difference in halving the resolution because the image is so vibrant. Not to mention, the input lag difference is massive and usable for everything including gaming.

Perfect projector for my need
Well worth the price. Just fantastic picture quality. If an external audio system is not available, the room can be adequately filled with sound via the built-in speakers. The system is flawless and trouble-free. I am delighted with the purchase and think this is a terrific unit all around.

Very nice picture, whine, slow to start
I really enjoy the color quality, sharpness, and brightness. But there is no "instant start" as far as I can tell; it always shows the splash screen and takes about 40 seconds to show the input (I just timed it). In addition there is a constant high pitched whine. I can ignore the whine while a movie is playing, but it is annoying. I chose this projector because it was the only ultra short throw I could find which allowed a ceiling mount. That's working well. I got a regular pull down screen, but now I wish I had a tensioned screen to keep it truly flat. Because of the short projection angle, every little ripple shows up (not the fault of this particular projector; any UST would behave the same).

Absolutely spectacular
This is an incredible short throw for the money. I project on a white wall no special HD paint, and it is incredible. Plenty bright and almost all applications except direct sun. And the Harmon Carden 50 W audio is really good.

Good but had to return
The image quality just on my white wall over my old ViewSonic 800HD was amazing, peak lumens was 1908 according to my crappy tester. So very close to the 2000 it's rated for. Unit started without any issues, sound from front speakers was pretty god dang good and the fan was quiet like under 40db quiet. Huge improvement over my old lamp version which could heat my cinema room on it own, even in Eco mode. Now reason for the return, there was this high pitch whine. Some refer to it as laser whine, gave the unit a 2 hour trial run to see if it went away and no luck. Back she goes and I'll grab another one during a sale, I'm so impressed with it

Alles in allem ein Supergerät ohne nennenswerte Schwächen, daher volle 5 Sterne - well done, Viewsonic!

Sound system is great feature for home viewing. We won’t use it, but still not bad. The distance for throw is what we needed and it’s fantastic.

I couldn't get a proper lips sync using an apple tv and the mini jack output with my hifi setup.
