I started using these LEDs in May 2020 when I redesigned and added more lights to our landscape lighting system. Before using these LEDs, I was using 50w halogen MR16 bulbs because I liked the amount of light output, dispersion, and color temperature. However, when I increased the number of lights on our system I needed to either get a huge transformer (600+ watts) to provide enough wattage for all of the desired light locations or go to LED bulbs which use 1/10 of the watts. And, if I bought the larger transformer and stayed with the halogen bulbs, our electrical usage would have jumped to about $30/month, just for the landscape lights. Now, I like the look of a nicely lit home and yard, but why pay $30/month (plus more for hardware and bulbs) when I could be paying $3... IF the quality of the LED bulbs was good. After doing a fair bit of research, I settled on these Boxlood MR16 LEDs and I could not be happier with the results. Every single bulb worked. All aspects of the light quality were excellent and largely stayed that way over their useful life (more on this later). I must admit that I'm always a bit wary of buying Chinese-produced lighting because of the often outrageous claims as to light output (lumens), color temperature (Kelvin), or expected lifespan. These Boxlood bulbs are excellent in all respects -- they're bright, have a very nice halogen-like 3000° Kelvin color, and last a long time. They claim to have a 20,000-hour lifespan, and by my calculations, I'm getting reasonably close to that. The first of the bulbs that I purchased in 2020 are just beginning to burn out (light quality and output seemed fine, right up to the end). If you do the math, over the ~50 months that I've had the bulbs, the 20,000 hours would equal about 13 hours/day. My best estimate is that our landscape lights are on an average of about 11 hours/day, or roughly 85% of the stated 20,000-hour life, in all kinds of weather from blazing hot to freezing cold. This 85% performance (presumably against a 20,000-hour rating done in a lab under ideal conditions) is more than good enough for me. Frankly, for the price per bulb and electricity savings, I'd be happy with even less lifespan! The bottom line, these are great bulbs that I will continue to purchase as long as they are available.

These are excellent bulbs. I have been buying them for a few years now, and they have been exactly as advertised and very reliable.

I used these bulbs to replace old halogen ones in an Ikea fixture and a ceiling fixture. The color matches close enough to the old halogen look (bought the 3000K) and are nice and bright. I love that they run much cooler than the old halogens and save energy. I only have a couple slight issues. First is when I have 4 of them together in one fixture, I notice a very high pitched buzzing sound; barely audible but there. The other is that for the Ikea fixture, the bulb's dome is slightly taller than the Ikea one, so it doesn't sit flush in the fixture, there's a noticeable gap. Not a big deal (bulb sits perfectly in my ceiling fixture where I had an identically sized GE bulb to the Ikea one), but something to be aware of.

Good and easy to install

These bulbs seem to be of good quality and if you need useful light these are the ones to use. They are very bright without glare and give off a nice white glow. No flickering noticed.

I’ve used these lights for a number of years for my landscape lighting. I run them nightly for roughly 5 hours and they typically will last me about 2 years each. They produce focused light on some tall palm trees (about 30’ tall) and I’m happy with the results they produce. I’ll continue to buy them as they are cost effective, very bright, and save energy over more traditional bulbs.

I loved these for the first 7 years I used them. Then suddenly just yesterday I smelled a burning electronic smell - come to find 2 of the 6 had started burning on the side of the base (see the photo). Luckily was around when it happened and was able to quickly remove them

They work for a few minutes, but eventually go extremely dim. This occurs on several bulbs, both connected to dimmer or to a source with fixed voltage. It is pity because when they work they are quite bright.
