Grid Systems: Principles of Organizing Type Paperback – October 28, 2004

Great book, immensely helpful. I got laid off 3 days after it arrived, but maybe I'll have another job to use it at soon. Within the next year or so I hope.

I really enjoyed this book. It provides a nice, historically aware introduction to design by grid systems. The book is ideal for those interested in print design, but it is also helpful for web designers as well. Mainly exercises, it will return what you put into it. The book is more of a hands on study than simple reader.

Great book with visual examples of layout that makes it much more user friendly. Well put together - would recommend this to anyone who deals with layout.

Professor recommended this book as supplementary reading for the course. Turned out to be a great reference and really helped me understand the complexity in some grids, especially with the opaque pages with grid overlay.

Very cool book. Printed with semi-transparent overlay pages. Super informative. If you want to be a designer, get it.

This book is full of useful information for working with grids. I recommend this book for anyone who works with grids.

The organization of the book seems a bit disjointed to me. I would have also liked to have seen a lot of the examples use actual type rather than block diagrams.The overlays are helpful, more discussion about them would make them even more useful. I want to like the book, but am not quite there. If I had to describe the book in one word it would be sterile.

Even though the quality of this book's information is top notch, the constant need for zooming in and out from this version makes the experience lack somewhat. Great book for designers trying to figure out the basics of grinding.

グラフィックデザインの参考書として知人にこの本を紹介されたので、何処でも見られるようにとKindle版を購入しました。ところがどっこいKindle版には、この本の要である、トレーシングペーパーに印刷された「グリッド」が再現されていませんでした。（レイアウトとグリッドの関係を示すために、半透明のグリッドが参考レイアウトの上にオーバーレイするように各ページに挟み込んであります）これでは全く用をなさないので、返本した上で、改めてペーパーバック版を購入しました。したがって、本書そのものには不満がありませんが、Kindle版は商品として問題があります。

Alterna in maniera sapiente pagine con nozioni generiche a esempi pratici separati da pellicola stampata che mette in evidenza la griglia di impaginazione degli stessi esempi. Consigliato a chi studia e lavora in questo ramo professionale.
