Columbia Women's Trailstorm Peak Mid Hiking Shoe

I am super happy with these Columbia hiking shoes! I have good hiking boots and was looking for hiking shoe as an alternative. This pair totally fit the bill. First of all, it was comfortable in a 7 wide, which is my normal size in a boot. Roomy enough for a thick sock. Right of out of the box, I wore it on a wooded one mile hike with no discomfort at all, and have worn it on several more hikes with no problems. It seems like a very well-made shoe, with a thick grippy sole, a protected front, a padded tongue, and all the other features you’d like to see on a hiker. You can trip on a root in these shoes and your feet will be protected.Second of all, it looks great. The pebble brown is a very traditional hiking color, with contrasting laces. The laces aren’t too long or too short. I haven’t worn it in wet conditions but it seems quite waterproof. The weight of the shoe is reasonable, a little heavy for packing but you need some heft for a decent boot. This is not a sneaker posing as a hiking shoe, but a real hiker that you can wear on the trail.

I was very happy with the fit and comfort of the shoe. It was one of my 2 pairs I took to Scotland with me. Got waterproof, just in case it was raining. I didn’t have time to break in, and was fine. Did a lot of walking, hiking, wore merino wool socks and put a bigger arch support in, so I did buy a larger size. Very happy with my purchase. I’m sure it will last me for a long time.

These are great hiking shoes. I wear them when walking trails in the canyon near where I live. They are comfortable and light. I actually got them a size larger than my usual size so I could put orthotics in since I have flat feet. They fit great and are just what I wanted!

I ordered a Try Before You Buy box of 6 pairs of hiking boots by different brands, and I purchased these because they were the lightest and most comfortable for my wide foot (they happened to be the most affordable as well). I sized up to a 9 (I’m an 8.5) so I could use insoles, and I still have room to wiggle in the toe box. The padding around the ankle is slightly bulky, but only when looking down on it, not from a side view. The white, sneaker-like sole makes them look more stylish than your average hiker, and I get a lot of compliments on them. I sometimes swap the red laces for black to mellow them out, but both look good.I’m recovering from a sprained ankle and mid foot, and not taking any more chances by walking or hiking in something that doesn’t offer ankle coverage/support. I’ve been wearing these for two months on neighborhood walks, short and long hikes, and a recent trip to Scotland where I was walking up to 10 miles a day up slippery cobblestone hills, steep stone monuments, and wet, muddy mountains. These shoes never let me down! Even when my feet were submerged in mud up to the laces, my feet stayed dry and the tread stuck to the terrain. I got the green boots with the red laces, and I styled them with wide leg pants and jeans and a trench in Scotland, and they just looked like the sneakers that all the fashion girls were wearing.I heartily recommend these boots! I have no complaints whatsoever, and am considering ordering a second pair in a different color just for fun.

I love these hiking shoes. I didn't want boots, because I don't need that much ankle support. I didn't have any shoes with good traction, however, I got these, and the made hiking so much easier. They are true to size and did not hurt my feet at all. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a pair of hiking shoes!

They are an excellent hiking shoe. For one being waterproof, crossing shallow streambeds with no problem. Seem to be durable at a reasonable price. The laces could be more substantial but they still function. I'm pleased with my purchase.

Loved these shoes!! bought them for a hiking trip to Arizona! very comfortable and provided good stability for the ankles. didn't have any trouble with the clasps for the laces like some reviews mentioned. told my boyfriend it felt like my shoes were in bed!! lol so comfy! i did size up half a size to account for thicker socks

Besddes the wide heel, and admittedly I have narrow feet, I thought these were pretty good value for money. I wore them in damp (not really wet) conditions and feet stayed dry. I have NEVER needed a size 10- 1/2 in my life (I usually take a 9 1/2 or sometimes 10, but I found I needed 10 -1/2 in these— so beware sizing.

Der Schuh ist nicht ganz so tip top verarbeitet (Klebespuren).Allerdings habe ich ihn wegen der Ösen zurück schicken müssen.Ich habe den Schuh nicht bis oben geschlossen (also die Ösen freigelassen), und bin beim Gehen mit dem Schnürsenkel des anderen Schuhs in die Ösen geraten, was ungefähr zusammengebundenen Knöcheln gleichkam. Ich hatte richtig Glück, dass ich mich noch abfangen konnte. Und das ganze ist mir auf kurzer Strecke gleich 3x passiert.Also entweder den Schuh immer schön bis oben schließen, was ja nicht alle mögen oder die Schnürsenkel gut verstauen!Allerdings fand ich das Material auch nicht so toll wie beworben. Ich habe es mal getestet... der Dreck ging keines Wegs besser ab, eher schlechter als bei anderen Kunstlederschuhen. Und es werden sicher schnell Kanten/Falten/Risse durchs Gehen entstehen.

Despite the product description, the outer material is not "Faux Leather". It is a leather from animal. Unfortunately I did notce it too late to return and now I feel like the Flintstone when wearing those.Those shoes are really comfy and warm, but based on the looks I would expect much lower price. If you will have a look at the details, you will see lots of glue residues and it just doesn't look good nor high quality. I will get rid of those on first occasion.
