Sometimes He Whispers Sometimes He Roars: Learning to Hear the Voice of God

Marilynn Chadwick is not only an incredible author, but a sensational teacher! This book is a must read if you are desiring a deeper, more personal prayer life and relatioship with God. For the first time in my life, someone is teaching me how to specifically pray for people, places, things, personal struggles, etc. After implementing the chubby book method, I have seen some big prayers answered by God. I'm not saying God wasn't answering prayers before, but by using the chubby book method, I'm not only more aware of my prayer requests, but I actually get excited to see which ones are on my list for the day! For the first time in my life, I have been excited to sit down, read my Bible, look over my master prayer list and to see how God speaks to me through Scripture. It's been amazing how certain verses that stick out to me on one day can be so applicable for the people on my list for that day. God really is speaking to me, and I'm waiting for when He roars!

Good content but mostly apply to perfect scenario where you have FULL control over your daily schedule. To many young women who work in the corporate world, business world, we don't have control over our schedule. It's hard to carve a big portion of time to pray, or do those related activities. Not that we don't want to pray, but with 12-14 hours working every day, it's just hard, mentally and physically. It is a bit discouraging reading how she plans her prayer time so perfectly. I think it would be helpful to include different perspectives and don't shout out this "perfect prayer plan".

As soon as I started reading Sometimes He Whispers, Sometimes He Roars, I knew it was going to change me. I'm trying to take it slowly through the chapters, as there is so much to think about and put into practice. I've already begun to do some of the ideas she suggests and it is stirring a hunger in my spirit to pray more. This book is really practical, simple yet profound, and easy to start right where you are. I hope you'll read it!

I loved the book....God is so amazing in how He speaks to His children and the book clearly shows how each of us are so different in how we listen....and how God has to speak to us in different in tones....just as we parents do....thank you for sharing the book with the world!

This book will cause you to move from praying for ones own world to beginning to pray for God's world. It is so practical in guiding the reader to a more specific and watchful time concerning prayers. I led entire group of women thru it using leader guide in the back. All loved it.

This book has changed my prayer life and my life. I pray Scriptures back to God, using my Chubby Book. And as the lyrics of Ancient Words say I see that Scripture "changing me, changing you--leading me home."I have given the book to quite a few women and will continue to do so.

How the author motivated by 911 started to pray for a list of concerns and became involved with Africa among other areas she prayed about. A great book on practical praying with insight from God , I found comforting.
