Incredible performance
Incredible tone and sound for such an affordable price.

Pretty sweet!
Sounds great regardless. The price point makes it that much better. My favorite way of using it is a preamp into a power amp effects loop. The gate makes a huge difference. The one caveat is that it is amazing with active pickups for different metal genres, but the gate interferes with my SG. I try to use the guitars volume knobs to dial in output levels and the gate catches a lot of the signal and kills the sound or let's in too much and everything gets really noisy. In short for metal, it will be great. Anything more nuanced provide challenges.

Chopper Z = Apex Preamp/Peavey Invective
This is Joyo's take on the Horizon Devices Apex Preamp. I personally think the Apex Preamp sounds like a channel from the Peavey Invective and the Chopper Z does so as well but better. The Chopper Z acts as both a distortion and a preamp and can be changed by a nob. This is nice as you don't have to do any EQ tweaks when going between the two unlike the Apex. The gate is very handy and the tone covers a lot of territory in terms of high gain. Its a little bass heavy when everything is at noon but if you cut that bass down and bump the treble a bit, you can get some very nice sounds. I have used this with 6 string guitars in standard tuning all the way to 8 strings with dropped tunings and it sounds good with whatever I throw at it. My only con is the cab sim but for what you get it's a amazing pedal. This is a great pedal for the value and wish something like this was around when I started playing.

Returned
It is cheap sounding, strong build quality, but not effective enough to keep. Experienced extreme volume drop. Tones out of it were mid. Returned quickly.

Item defective, there's a short in the power input
Defective item. And I have no idea if I received a used item that had already been returned, since the label was in weird warped shape. For the price, they should not be sending me an item in this condition. Issues: there is a short in the power input, it either won't power on at all, or it flickers on and off. My power cord is fine and the correct one, it's not the cord.

So so
More of the same, they all sound the same to me. I returned it.

Just not for me.
I watched some YouTube videos on this pedal. Well, needles to say. It didn't sound like it did on the videos. I'm sure others would like it. It just wasn't for me.

Chopper-Z more like Chopper FEEDBACK
i originally got this pedal for the sound gate because I play in a garage band and have been tired of the loud feedback. but it's like the feedback is worse because I can hear it while palm muting on fast play throughs. I am very disappointed in that aspect. But I will say I really like the sound of the pedal. I know you get what you pay for but with the price of everything these days we can at least dream. if you aren't going to crank your volume then this pedal will work well for you and have a good sound. if you are going to crank it then spend some more cash for a decent pedal with a sound gate

Im a metal guitarist and i have been experimenting with different distortion/overdrive peddle the last few years, this one caught my eye and I have to say im so glad I took the chance with the JOYO CHOPPER - Z PEDAL and brought it to try, its so easy to use and get the tone your wanting from it. The noise gate works amazingly (considering one of my guitars have overly squealy pickups in it at the moment) i had 0 issues with the, no squeals from it like I got with other pedals, the cab sim on it i have set to power amp and its insane. Id highly recommend people take a chance with this pedal, ill definitely be getting more from this company

Just a sound I was looking for

Build quality - 5/5 Sound - 4.5/5 Usability - 4.5/5 Features - 4/5 Pros - Good high gain sound, Built in noise gate, robust enclosure, nice design, operation lights great. Cons - Noise gate makes a small noise when cutting in, speaker or cab emulation not good, boost flattens everything and should really be a mid boost with low cut for solos.

Me gustó mucho el sonido que le da a mi guitarra y a mi bajo La perilla del noise gate funciona bien, no es la mejor pero si no tienes un pedal dedicado para ello, es una solución a ese rudio de la distorsión.
