Brilliant bolt for my gate well worth the money.

Did not use it as a drop down bolt . I wanted a strong bolt to build into a garden door , so this fitted the bill perfectly. So the handle part is the only part showing on the inside .

These are a good size and fit my gate perfectly. Even after a few months of use they are as easy to use now as when I got them. But the paint has long gone, so if you are getting these because they look nice forget it. Within a few weeks of use the pain will be gone and they will be a nice red colour

Just what I needed for my son’s new gate. It used to rattle a bit in the wind, but no longer. Well pleased.

I'd had a plastic side gate fitted and was going to fit a horizontal bolt for security. The post is hollow, so this looked a better solution. In hindsight, i could have fitted a piece of 2x2 inside for the purpose. It was quite simple to fit, making sure the brackets were in line, then bradawl and screwdriver. The back of the brackets are not flush, which is normal, but it fitted quite flat. For drilling a hole ( in my case concrete ) i cleaned the area and marked round the bolt with a felt tip pen. I did a small pilot hole and then used a 20mm masonry bit. I have not fitted the collar or base plate as the surface of my path is a bit rough. While this would make it neat, i don't think it's required.
