SPARC SHD-ITR2BT vs Sangean Radios
Overall, a good purchase with some unpleasant results but also many positive.Selectivity:is a radio's ability to listen to frequencies relatively close to one another without disruption from others nearby, AKA signal bleeding. The selectivity of this radio, considering the size, is quite impressive. I love to listen to 95.5, a weak station over 80 miles away, but it is next to 95.7, a very strong local channel at about 35-40 Db strength. Many radios experience a lot of signal bleeding from 95.7 on 95.5 but not this one! The selectivity is VERY GOOD! I was able to listen clearly without problems (whenever I received the signal.) Better than previous Sangean selectivity experiences.Sensitivity:is another key aspect of assessing a radio's quality. The sensitivity of a radio is its ability to receive distant stations, like 95.5 mentioned above. The selectivity of this radio is above average, but nothing to write home about. The reduction in bandwidth (treble) when listening to a distant station makes the listening experience rather unpleasant. Any ""ssss"" sounds are exemplified and it is not desirable at all. That being said, it is much harder to hear the intermittent static but there is an obvious volume decrease. Sangean is a CLEAR winner.Construction: The build quality of this radio is only average. The exterior black paint almost appears to be like a spray paint black and is very easily scratched. The speaker grill is a decent metal grill. There is something to the effect of a carrying handle which I found to be useful, but somewhat inconveniently placed for portability. Here, the Sangean PR-D15 (and HDR-16) are clear winners in design.HD Radio:I was honestly very impressed by the radio's ability to get and lock on to an HD Radio signal, even if it was only received at 1 bar. Very nice tuner here. Not really many Sangeans to compare to as the HDR-16 has not yet been released. Far better than Sangean HDR-1's ability.Sound Quality:I was not impressed by the sound quality. Unlike the website states, there is no EQ ability to change. The cheap plastic construction detracts further as the passive radiators sound muffled and not deep/tight. It stays on Rock when using Bluetooth which accentuates the treble and bass but severely lacks mid-range. Portable SPARC radio AM/FM HD has better sound in that one speaker as far as clarity. Sangean's radios are a HUGE winner in this category.

Good table top Radio
Does all it is supposed to do EXCEPT it eats batteries and does not appear to accept rechargeable. Great sound and menu fairly intuitive .Not quite sure about the HD channels. Some are automatic and some are not.Probably to do with the stations signal

I actually bought this for my son as a Christmas gift. It is his first Clock-Radio Alarm, as he is only 11. He seemed to like it. As I was setting it up for him I found I wished I had bought it for myself! Great reception of the HD channels. Easy to program too. Small radio with big stereo sound. Battery backup so it will still work during power failures. Only two complaints: 1. I had to go online to download the owner's manual. 2. Radio does NOT have a plug for an external antenna, so if the built in antenna breaks, the radio is shot.

Sleek and Elegent
I love this stereo radio for AM or FM stations. Easy to setup its functions and remember your favorite stations so they are at hand when called upon. Has a handle in back for easy carry and an antenna to keep reception in the clear. Runs on AC or DC ( 4 AA batteries ) to keep tuned-in. It aslo has slick design that keeps it modern and not run-of-the-mill ordinary.

Love this radio!!
Great HD radio-- I should have bought this years ago!! I can finally get the HD smooth jazz station now, as well as lots of others. It's easy to find and tune in stations. In terms of sound -- it has a pretty good sound for its size. Great sound with Bluetooth speaker. My only wish would be that the sleep timer were easier to use, maybe as a button. But otherwise, I love it!!

do not recommend!
This is really an obnoxious machine. If it is in use for more than a few hours, it stops transmitting and beeps incessantly (can be for hours, if you are not aware). Sometimes it goes into a semi-transmission state where the volume is severely reduced. To fix this, you hit the power button (??).Speaking of the power button, this does not work- I must unplug the device).Additionally, the tiny screen that should indicate what station is on, RARELY is readable.

Terrific radio.
excellent tone and clear reception. It's hard to find good tabletop/carry around radio. This one fits the bill and was exactly what I wanted. Great tone and really pulls in the stations. Way better than the Sony portable I bought last year.

Time would not stay set . . . .
Everything thing seemed to work fine, except the clock. I set the time. I set the alarm. And went to bed.Alarm went off way earlier (in the middle of the night) than it was set. I looked at the clock and the time was way off.
