Great option when money is tight but bunny still gotta eat! Hay is life! Always pleased with the freshness and green sometimes a little brown but it's value hay. I handle my Timothy hay allergy a bit better with this one but maybe it depends on the season.

Wow! This is my first time buying from this brand, Small Pet Select. That being said, I am very pleased!! So much hay for a great price, especially when you compare prices to other companies that sell the same amount of hay. THIS hay is fresh, green, soft, and smells lovely. My boy loves it and didn’t ignore it for a second upon giving it to him within his enclosure! He also loves how there isn’t too many stalks in this product, unlike the other brand I was constantly buying from before… this hay is “grassier” and thus my pet is more eager to eat this. Thank you so much!

Great product! Great brand!! The box comes PACKED!! First time I bought it I received a box with beautiful thick green strands of Timothy hay. Also, I could not see small pieces of hay and I had not realized any hay dust excess that needed to be sifted. The second time I purchased this item it was not the same quality, which is understandable but unfortunately my box came with a lot of brown hay. I contacted the brand and they were awesome! Although this product is not included on their 100% satisfaction guarantee they still contacted the warehouse responsible for my order and asked them to look for a better box for me.

I usually love Small Pet Select Hay. It usually looks and smells fresh. This is the first time I ordered the Value Choice. I read the description and learned that the only difference is the packaging; no pretty pictures. I read the reviews and they were all good, so I purchased. I was disappointed when I opened the box yesterday. It definitely wasn't like what I usually get. My rabbit wouldn't eat it. He stayed under the couch all day. I was worried he had GI Stasis, when I brought him greens and treats he would eat them. He usually loves his hay. I even put him in his hay/litter box and he hopped out and hid under the couch again. Today I tried feeding him by hand and he would literally pick the brown pieces out and toss them aside and only eat the green pieces. That's when I realized just how bad it was. It looks like I raked it up from my lawn after mowing and letting it sit in the sun. I can't believe I fed this to him. Neither can Cinnabun! I guess he was pouting. He's actually giving me the side eye. I tried to pick enough green pieces to hold him over until I can get to the feed store tomorrow. What a pain. It's in the garbage now. Hopefully he will forgive me. I went back and looked at the reviews again and noticed a new from someone else who received a bad batch in January. He called customer service and got a full refund. Unfortunately I didn't open the box until the after the return window. I just ordered it last month, but it was over 30 days. Amazon made an exception and refunded me 50%. Considering that I wasn't that far past the return window and the product was so bad and I spend at least $1000 at Amazon most months, I thought they should just go ahead and refund me the full $20, but they wouldn't budge. I feel like Small Pet Select would have gladly given me a full refund to keep me as a customer if I had ordered it directly from them. Amazon is convenient, but I will order directly from Small Pet Select from now on. Hopefully this is just a one off situation that doesn't happen again.

You definitely get what you pay for! The hay itself varies in quality, from small brown stringy pieces to large hard pieces. I wouldn't say this Is a bad product, as it is a value choice, meaning you will likely get "left overs" from their premium boxes. My four guinea pigs are loving the hay and eat it right up, which I was worried about with the variation of grasses. My biggest complaint would have to be the dust content. It is soooo dusty and leaves a trail of tiny hay bits everywhere, making it super messy when it comes to pulling the hay out of the box. Overall, it's a good choice if you're on a budget and don't have picky pets. If it were not for the dust problem, I would continue buying this product, but my fiance and I both struggle with breathing.

This is excellent quality hay and lasts a long time without going bad or getting bugs. You can tell it is verybfresh compared to others. It's the only one I have ordered that my bunny likes, so it's the only one I buy & it's the same great quality every time. Highly recommend.

This stuff is better than the hay I got from Kaytee, but it still has some issues. Too much brown dead grass, too many pieces of what looks like straw. At least it doesn't smell. I believe I'll stick to the regular Timothy hay. It's not a bargain if da bun buns won't eat it 😕

Green stemmed 2nd cut hay. Cant tell the difference between the value and non value. Piggies love it

I have used this product in the passed and have always loved the high standard and high grade of hay. My Guinea pigs loved it that much they barely left any. Now for the last 2 boxes I've bought they have been full of durt which is dangerous as Guinea pigs to inhale. I apologise for leaving this review but I cannot buy your hay in this condition.
