Excellent Performance And Reliabliity At A Low Cost
This is an excellent and reliable external hard drive, that offers massive file storage space at an affordable price. I don't know what else to say, other than if you want lots of terabytes for a very decent price, get one!

Huge, pretty fast, secure offline desktop storage.
I have a number of high capacity (14-16 tb) discs mostly to hold video collection. However, this caught my eye as you can set it up to do encrypted backup of whatever you want. I have a lot of cloud based material that I need offline backup. This does the job as well as supplying security on this easily accessible disc. This allows you to leave it in plain sight as possession of the disc won’t get at the content. Setup was a little bit difficult but online help is okay. You can tell it to backup continually, hourly, daily or snapshot. Annoyingly there is not an ‘on demand’ one. I don’t like the continuous as of course it will immediate backup that file you’ve just messed up, this losing the safety copy. Copy speeds are pretty fast for big files. I’ve not tried the usbC link to see if that’s faster as I had a little problem getting connected l, but full speed with the usbA, if memory serves me around 150-200 Mb/sec. Like it’s breathren, these big discs are not portable and are quite delicate, needing separate power supply. You must be careful to let them stop spinning before moving.

5 star customer service
So far, so good. Excellent product choice to add extra storage to a high end gaming PC. Seagate customer service is excellent. I had a question regarding my purchase and got an immediate realtime response with a very knowledgable and friendly customer service rep. Well deserved 5 stars. The device has it's on power plug in addition to rigging it up to a PC. It's silent and has rubber feet. Mine is placed on the floor under my gaming desk. Registration was quick and simple.

A simple, effective, easy to use backup solution from a recognised company
I use the 14TB version of the Seagate One Touch Hub set up for continuous backup of my laptop (using the software "Toolkit" provided). It offers me a simple way to ensure I have my system covered, should the main drive on my laptop suddenly die or the system becomes corrupted. Personally I use this as part of a three part backup scheme, along with a NAS (off site) and another external hard drive. Can't be too careful ! The size of this drive also means I can use it for storage of photos and video, along with a document repository for all my scanned personal documents. The One Touch Hub comes in a variety of drive sizes. It is password protected (although you can set it to recognise the main laptop / PC / Mac you are using it with (connected to via the USB lead) so that you don't have to enter the password every time you switch it on). Obviously if you disconnect the drive or use it with another laptop / PC / Mac it will need the user set password to operate it - so it's secure, protecting your data if stolen. I've only had the drive a few weeks so can't comment on longevity and not had to contact Tech Support , so I can't rate that either. However I have used Seagate drives in the past and found them to be ultra reliable. In a nutshell, if you want an easy to use back up solution for your Windows or Mac computer this is well worth considering. Set up and leave and it does the rest.

Good transfer speeds
This review is for the "one touch" 14TB hub. I bought this drive due to my 10TB getting almost full. I've been using seagate drives for years with no issue. Some reviews state they don't get the space advertised. Simple answer you do & you don't. The "B" in the TB stands for bytes. So, if you buy a 14TB drive you will get 14000000000000 bytes, so in this sense you are getting what you pay for. In another sense 14000000000000 bytes is equal to approx 13.2 TB. Same goes with all the other sizes, this is standard with most manufacturers. I can't testify to the one touch function as I didn't use it. When you first connect to a pc, click the "start here" icon. This will open your browser for the registration page. You only have to put your name and email to activate the warranty. Next it will ask you to download seagte software. I skipped this part as I didn't want the one touch back up. I prefer manual copy or transfer, especially with large amounts of data. I got an average write speed of over 200 mb/s (approx 211 mb/s). I managed to transfer 9TB of data in better than expected time. I was so impressed that I have since bought another 14TB hub. Just remember, this is a Hub so don't directly connect it to another hub or you will likely only get 25 mb/s transfer rate. Connect it to its own USB port on your PC.

Died in less than a year
Awful drive. Had it less than a year and one day just stopped working. Went through all the trouble shooting and cannot even format the drive so it is useable moving forward. As this drive is meant to be a reliable back up due to its capacity, it is shocking that it can just fail without any external forcing (drive was not dropped, has not been moved from my desk since purchase). Steer clear.

Cheaper than others and works fine
I bought this as a 2nd backup drive which I will only use in case my main backup drive fails and for that reason the price was perfect. It’s not a fast drive but I guess that’s fine in my personal preference.

Excellent
I've used these HDs for years to store my archived video content. The quality is fantastic and they're very easy to use and set up. The cord length works for most situations and for a HD of this capacity its extremely good value for money

I have a Plex Server at home that allows me to digitally access all my videos, photos and music. It's very handy but as you can imagine, storage can be an issue as video files especially eat up a lot of memory. I have a 5TB external hard drive but am starting to run out of space. I decided I needed a much bigger storage option and I bought this Seagate for it's size and the reputation of the brand. I have had good experiences with Seagate drives whereas some other brands have failed on me in an unusually short amount of time. I'm super happy with this Seagate drive so far. I saw one review that says it will not run on MacOS which is not true. That person must have simply received a defective product. I have 2 different MacBooks and have no problem mounting this drive to either laptop. The thing that is most impressive about this drive is how fast it is compared to my other external drives. It literally transfers files in about half to even 1/3 the time that it takes to move files onto my smaller 5TB drives. One review says that it is loud. I do find that it is louder than my external 5TB drives but it I wouldn't say that it is inordinately loud. It's a much bigger drive so you need to power it via an AC adaptor, unlike the smaller drives which are powered via the computer's USB port. But that should be expected for any drive that is bigger than 5TB. Overall, this drive is doing the job I need it to do. It's fast and it has plenty of storage to keep my Plex drive storage growing for probably another couple of years. My experience with Seagate drives gives me confidence that the drive will not fail before I need to explore replacing it with a drive of more substantial size.
