Wow. Scary sharp
I did a lot of online research on the best knife sharpening systems. I wanted to use this on my kitchen knives (Wusthof and Dalstrong) and my business partners food truck (Mercer) and various friends and family. When I'm cooking, I like my knives to be sharp. Very, very sharp. The cuts are cleaner and it is safer.Five stars on the result - incredibly sharp knives. Really nothing more to say. I followed the process (a lot of online videos are available) and I got stupidly sharp knives. I literally laughed out loud the first time I used one that had just been sharpened. I've used a sharpening stone before but was never confident I was forming the correct blade angle. Once I used the Wicked sharpener, I now know that I was NOT getting the correct angle and it makes a difference. The Gen 3 Pro met my needs: all of the basics included with a carrying case. Five stars on the build quality - heavy duty and professional. The sharpener itself, all the accessories and even (especially?) the carry case all have a solid feel and appear to be quality components.A few things to remember:- It is not cheap but the results are clear.- It takes some practice getting used to the process. It was recommended in several places online to start with an older, cheaper knife - I highly recommend this. I did no damage but had to restart a couple of times the first time to get the process right.- It takes some time to get the edge correct the first time, after that, a touch up is a breeze. I had to "re-build" the edge on virtually all of the knives. I took pictures and documented the positioning and expect touch-ups to be a breeze (haven't needed to do so, yet!)- I had to buy a couple of additional accessories that were needed for smaller knives (especially paring and boning knives) and I went ahead and purchased a digital angle meter to make sure to accurately set the blade angle. More expense but small in comparison to the initial outlay.Summary: expensive but worth it. I real pleasure to use the knives once they are precision honed...

Awesome and easy
I have been through most of the available knife sharpeners. This one is by far the most expensive, and also the best I have used. It is almost too easy to use and produce amazingly sharp blades. I do not disparage some of the lessor cost units, I used them for years, but this thing is a dream. The #3 unit with the one arm cam lock makes set up almost foolproof. If you like really sharp knives that can be re-sharpened quickly, I would not think twice before getting this. Only issue is cost, but you get what you pay for most of the time. I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates good tools, no matter the cost.

It truly was dull as a butter knife and now it is razor ...
I purchased this wondering if I my $$$ was well spent. Set up was ease. I watched a YouTube and this and spent MLK holiday sharpening all my kitchen knives. My kitchen knives are all now RAZOR sharp and pass the hair and paper cutting tests. I had an old Buck knife I have had since the 1980's when I was in the Army. With all the stones provided, my old Buck Knife is sharper than it has ever been. It truly was dull as a butter knife and now it is razor sharp, has a very shiny edge and can cut hair and paper. It takes practice and you must use a Sharpie Marker. But it is easy to master after you watch the Youtube Video. I am glad that I purchased this system. Well worth the money and if you have a lot of old dull knives, I highly recommend this.

It's not sharp until it's WICKED SHARP !
This kit is expensive, and worth every penny if you want your knives so sharp they are scary. There is a learning curve, and a break-in period for the stones, but once you figure things out it is the bomb. Get a cheap $10 kitchen knife to practice on, and break in the stones. Took me four or five tries to get everything dialed in, but once I did, I am able to sharpen just about anything. Highly recommend adding the 1200/1600 ceramic stones, and the leather strops with 4 and 2 micron paste. All my knives now have a mirror finish that you can see your reflection in ! They glide through anything with almost no effort (yes fingers too, so be careful !)

Seems to be the best value if you have a wide range of knives
I first got the WE100 not realizing that it only sharpens very specific blade profiles. So ended up absolutely failing miserably to sharpen a spyderco user as it had a coated blade so I used the cardboard shim. Didn’t realize it was wobbly just slightly while sharpening. Have to remove a good bit of metal to get it profiled back correctly cause I demolished the tip from the flex.Went to mount a clone shiro just to see how it would do (have no need to sharpen any of my real ones yet) and that was when I realized why I was having so much trouble. So in comes this unit. First impression, I honestly thought I got a used unit. Came in an absolutely beat up box. The hard case is fine, minus a few nicks. Would expect it to be perfect given the price but it’s not worth the headache. Open the box and it feels like I’m missing pieces. After getting everything out of the case, I realized the tool for setting the depth was missing. Had somehow got under the foam and was hidden.Packaging aside, the unit is in perfect shape. No issues with it. Immediately grabbed the shiro clone and it clamps solid. Also mounted the Spyderco knife I destroyed and it mounts solid. The other thing I can say is, the height of this one is nice. I feel like I’m making much more controlled strokes and not sliding around the tip rounding it now. That was what I had issues with before. So far I am much happier with this purchase, specially knowing I will be able to sharpen all my knives and not just a few.
