InterDynamics Certified A/C Pro Vent and Duct Cleaner, Professional Strength Odor Eliminator for Cars, Truck, HVAC, 10 Oz

I decided to try the InterDynamics Certified A/C Pro Vent mainly as a preventative step, not because my car smelled bad to begin with. My A/C already smelled normal, but I wanted to keep the system clean and avoid any future musty odors, especially with how often I use the air conditioning. The process was simple and quick. Just follow the instructions, run the A/C, and let the product circulate. What really stood out is how fresh and clean the airflow felt afterward. It didn’t introduce any heavy perfume or chemical-like scent — just a light, neutral freshness that makes the car feel well-maintained. A few days after using it, the air still feels crisp, and it gives me peace of mind knowing the system is being kept in good shape. For anyone looking to maintain their A/C and prevent odors before they start, this is an easy and affordable option that actually makes a noticeable difference.

Works well when you properly prepare the car as follows: 1. Clean/blow off and wash off that external air intake area prior to applying this. 2. The biggest thing people forget is to temporarily remove the cabin air filter prior to spraying this in the external air intake around the hood windshield area. You want this product to go past where the cabin air filter is and reach the A/C system. 3. Once you start spraying it into the external air intake, you’ll notice the fumes are pretty strong. Same goes for the inside of the car. I got a little bit of a headache during application, so take precautions. 4. You already have the cabin air filter out as part of this exercise, so replace it with a clean, new filter while you are there. After running the car’s A/C system for about 20 minutes, I was concerned about the chemical smell in the car being too strong, so I washed off the external air intake area with the garden hose and ran it another 10 minutes. The results were awesome: the bad smells were gone. I let it sit overnight and drove with the windows down the next day. The chemical smell was very light on day 1 and completely gone by day 2.

This product completely removed the moldy, mildew stench from my car’s AC system as advertised. One important tip: remove all cabin filters (including pre-intake and carbon filters) before using it. Otherwise, the spray just soaks the filters instead of reaching the condenser. If you take that extra step and follow the instructions, it works great. Expect a strong powdery chemical smell for about a day, but once it fades, the original odor is gone for good.

This vent and duct cleaner does a solid job removing musty odors and freshening the A/C system. It’s easy to use and noticeably improves the smell in the car. The only drawback is that the freshness doesn’t last as long as I hoped. Still, a good quick fix for eliminating tough odors.

We recently purchased a new (to us) family vehicle and noticed when the air was on without the A/C the it would have a terrible rotting smell and I tried the lysol in the air intake which would would for a week or two but come back. I used this and have so far had great results coming on 3 months now. Smells great and works as advertised.

DO NOT USE THIS! Sprayed in air vents and it leaked onto wires causing power steering to go out and the cooling system and all sorts of components in the car. The car started shaking and swerving and died on the side of the road after using this and it was unsalvageable. Mechanic said so many parts had been damaged on the car that it could not be fixed and the car never worked again. Had to trade it in for scraps and have it towed, as it was so destroyed it inside that it couldn't even run again. This chemical is dangerous and can corrode the internal components of a car. Other reviews also say this damaged their car, but this completely ended ours.

Worked but the scent is very strong and took several months to die down.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do - got rid of musty smell from AC in a new mower vehicle. Follow directions exactly though, making sure windows are open and air filter is removed first.

I’m only giving it a 4 star instead of a 5 because of the high price and I wish the amazing smell lasted longer than it does
