Seems too flimsy to absorb much heat
Not what I expected. It's stamped from very thin, aluminum sheet metal, and the spring seems *too* strong.Not enough thermal mass to act as a good heat sink during soldering, and the spring is so strong it could crush a fine gauge stranded wire.Years ago I bought a cheapo heat sink (Radio Shack?) that had small copper pads or blocks to heatsink the wire being soldered -- very effective -- too bad I can't find those anymore.
