The Basilica of St. Mark in Venice

I purchased this book in the advice of another Amazon reviewer. Since you cannot take pictures inside of the Basilica you don't see them on Instagram or other sites as you start your travel research. This book and the color pictures are absolutely enthralling. I would 100% recommend it. It is vibrant and detailed and just fabulous. A++ to the authors and publishers!

This is a beautiful book. Lots of photos of this beautiful basilica - which was my favorite of all the cathedrals that we went into on a recent trip to Italy. We weren't allowed to take photos inside, so this is a fabulous reminder of how beautiful it was.

I purchased this book after visiting the basilica as I am a terrible photographer and wanted a good set of photos for memorabilia. Very pleased with book and service by vendor.

I loved all of the photos and history of the church. We toured it this past summer and each time I look through the book I have beautiful photos to remind me about the tour.

Pictures are not allowed in St Mark’s. This book gives the best overview and history I have seen.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC PICTORIAL AND HISTORY. I PURCHASED AFTER RETURNING FROM VENICE AND VISITING ST. MARK'S RECENTLY. PHOTOGRAPHS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE ST. MARK'S AND THIS VOLUME HELPS KEEP THE MEMORY ALIVE WITH EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE WRITTEN WORD.

Beautiful book- iconic church, highlight of trip

The book showed many, but not all, of the great mosaic decoration of the ceiling surfaces of the Great Basilica of St. Mark. Fair quality pictures with a pretty good commentary.

The quality of the photographs is the most striking aspect of this wonderful book. Well worth buying for any lover of Venice or anyone interested in the art of mosaic, church architecture or the romanesque or byzantine style.

Just returned from Venice and since you cannot take photos in the Basilica, this book is great to be able to show other friends what you saw. I haven't had the time to sit down and read it all, but I would still recommend the purchase .
