Will this work on an aftermarket radio?

Unfortunately I don't know. All what my husband did was unplug the old and installed new one. This worked with factory radio.

Is there a way to adjust the angle? Its angled to low at the ground

You need to use a pair of pliers or small vise grips and make small adjustments to the bracket that comes with the camera. The bracket bends pretty easily, so start with small increments until its pointed where you want it.

Can you easily remove your tailgate with this camera wired up?

Yes, you just need to make sure when you install it the connector is accessible to you, handle/ camera assy has @ 2 feet of cable then a connector , you can route connector outside of tailgate assy, then you can unplug handle/camera at connector and remove tailgate
