The Third Big Bad
The Archive Version of Grand Moff Tarkin is here, and it looks superb. The face sculpting looks a lot like Peter Cushing, and he will easily sit on your shelf next to Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.Tarkin is highly articulated, he has a ball join on his wrist and waist rotation. He comes with the torture droid that was used by Darth Vader on “A New Hope”. This droid CANNOT be removed from its stand unfortunately. But it can be moved on the ball joint of the stand. Tarkin is the proper height compared to other heroes like Leia and Darth Vader as you can see from the images. Tarkin is the tertiary antagonist of the Star Wars franchise, and is often underrated. For my EU fans, he was Admiral Daala’s mentor and lover. His influence made Daala one of the big bads of the EU alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn. A figure I need to get next. You can’t go wrong with this figure!

TIME FOR AN UPGRADE
If you had the previous release--awesome. This one is just slightly and mostly better. It's a far more impressive paint job on the face. If you love Cushing, like we all should love Cushing, it's an upgrade that is justifiable. If you didn't get the original--here's your chance to pretend your waiting paid off. Hasbro has only gotten one thing right in years---this is is.

Detail
Outstanding details to the figure looks exactly like the actor who played Gran Moff Tarkin in the 1977 movie when I went to see it as a young adult. Great memories

Tarkin Reissue Is Great For Those Who Missed Out
Who doesn't like Tarkin? I like him enough I now own two of him. The Archive playbook is in full swing here, with identical sculpt and some minor paint and photoreal touch-ups. He is very, very similar to the Archive release of Emperor Palpatine, as in there is very, very little different. I think there is more photoreal eye work done, and a lighter skintone, but very little besides that. Its definitely not on the same level as the changes in Archive Thrawn. If you already own Tarkin from before and you are happy with him you can safely pass on this. If you want to army build Tarkin like me, you may purchase when ready!
