I was skeptical about getting something this important off of Amazon, but thankfully, I was proven wrong. My son & I changed his timing chain (with the proper tools) and his Mini Cooper is going strong!

Kit did what it had to do. 1k miles and no issues yet

Pretty straight forward. Suited my needs for the most part. Install was a little clunky. The holes didn’t quite line up when I went to reinstall the ones that go through the plastic guard (can’t remember what they were called). If you need something that works and is inexpensive, this will probably fit the bill. It stopped the death rattle on my ‘12 Mini Cooper S. One word to the wise is that you ABSOLUTELY MUST replace the bolts that go through the upper two VANOS sprockets. I didn’t replace them and had to chase my tail for weeks trying to figure out why my engine kept giving me the engine limp-mode light. Once I replaced the bolts, knock on wood, the light hasn’t come back since and it’s been about 6 weeks. One other recommendation is to drop the oil pan and remove all of the broken plastic pieces from the old chain tensioner. Another issue that I knew I needed to do but forgot about it until my oil light came on. I had a couple of big pieces that kept clogging up the oil pump and causing low oil pressure and the red oil light to come on and off. You have to also take a bent up paper clip to clean out the inside of the pump between the bottom and the oil pump screen. Good luck!
