Great so far
I've had this product over a month now. I've used it just for splitting wood. In total I have used if for about 42 hours. Spent 3 hours straight hacking at wood around my work. Craftsmanship on this axe is a ok. Could see someone had used it before the black paint doesn't cover the whole axe head. The handle looks somewhat ok almost as if it was done in a rush. But one thing to note is that this axe is very difficult to split wood if it's still green or just too big, meaning the spring contraption on there stops the axe head to go in deeper to successfully spilt the log into two or so. Would be great to just use as a splitter axe for stumps less than 1 1/2 foot in height. But it is pretty heavy just you'll spend alot of time trying to split the wood. Also I had to sharpen my axe it was duller than a teaspoon. Also the silicone cover is somewhat appreciated but something bigger would be best.Tldr: great axe for small wood stumps, was dull, blade sheath is ok but could be better, craftsmanship was a ok not best.

Absolute Junk. Buy the Chopper1 axe instead.
I purchased one of these Chopper1 knock-offs, and unfortunately, one of the splitting jaws broke the first time I used it to split firewood. Amazon was kind enough to let me return it and send a replacement. However, the replacement axe also broke, but by then, I was outside the return window. While using the replacement, the spring broke, again while splitting firewood. Additionally, one of the retaining pins for the splitting jaw fell out and was lost. Sadly, the manufacturer's website does not offer an option to order replacement parts. Based on my experience, I would recommend buying the Chopper1 Axe instead.

Don't waste your money. Poorly made.
I bought this because it looked like a splitter my nephew has. I liked his so I thought I would get a similar one.Out of the box it looked good so this morning I took it for a test drive. It worked best on logs 8 to 9 inches in diameter. It had trouble with bigger stuff. The blade is like a split mal so it isn't sharp but with spring assist it split OK. So problem 1: didn't handle much of my pile. The second problem became obvious oddly enough, on the second log. It was a 9 inch diameter and I hit the log, it didn't split, but I noticed that the handle had slipped out of the head about 3/8 of an inch. So I tapped it back in. Second issue:handle not tightly attached..The third issue was the pin on the spring assist lever. It flew out and was a bear to find in the saw dust. It wasn't hard to put back in, but should never come out during usage. Third issue: Badly assembled/poor construction..Finally. It really wasn't much better than a splitting mal. It worked but not nearly as well as I expected after using my nephew's version. Not great. Not even good.

Works but some quality issues
The media could not be loaded. The head design is really cool and actually works. Only probable I have is the head is sliding off the handle and it is brand new. So what, now I have to hammer it back on and drive some tails in the end like it was my grandfathers old axe handle? I suppose that is not really a big deal, but I expect more from new.

Great Axe But Poor Quality
Works super well as long as the springs don't break and the handle. I couldn't believe how well it chopped wood by far the best axe I've ever used. It hardly ever gets stuck in the wood, its like magic. However not long after using the springs broke. I'm handy and I was able to fix them. Then the dang wood handle broke. I got a new handle so we'll see how it does.

Would not trust this axe, dangerous.
Buyer Beware.Purchased as we have lots of wood we chop regularly, about a half ton every year, and it the videos about these axes looked pretty good. After a few weeks of normal usage (about 2-3 trees worth of chopping), the axe head shattered upon impact right along the mechanism, into about 3 pieces of the axe head and the mechanism broke out. The metal material on these seems to be made of the fabled "Chinesium", as to say a very poorly made metal. For reference, all tools that I use are put away and regularly cleaned and honed so as too keep them in good condition, and I have gone back to my 9 year old splitting axe since. After that surprising and scary experience, I immediately returned this item, as it was broken from normal use and was genuinely dangerous. If you need to chop wood regularly for firewood at home, please make sure you get a high quality axe that wont potentially end you up on the hospital due to poor construction, and make sure to take care of it.
