Never Go with Cheap no name kits....
I learned my lesson to only buy Quality Name brand Timing products. Cloyes it one of the best. It is NOT worth trying to save money and buy a cheaper kit. Buy the Quality Cloyes kit. I have had to REDO two motors because of cheap timing kits and the defective tensioners. This is the way to go! All of it is Quality.

This was a great find for half the price for the exact same kit at the car parts stores. It came with all of the parts need to replace everything broken and worn out in my engine.

Chain broke in 4 months
Installed on 2008 CTS 3.6 VVT. Bank 1 chain broke and I am hoping I don’t have valve damage since it happened at idle. This is the second Cloyes chain that has broke on this car. The other was the primary though. These chains are all made in China in the same factory I would guess. The box did say made in China. The same kit sold at the local ORiellys said the same.

Disappointed by it worked.
I bought this kit because I’ve used cloyes in my race car and never had a problem. Upon opening I found one guide was broken In the package. Half the guides are completely plastic where as the factory are metal. The chains may be quality but the parts with it were not. I had to reuse one of the original guides. Luckily it was still in good shape and not ate up from the chain wearing into it. I wouldn’t by this kit again. I’d buy the chains with tensioners and buy factory guides.
