(If you don't press down while doing this it will not suction properly) • Remove the plastic cap from the three prongs. Make sure the three prongs are centered in the circular device. If not then twist the wing nut to loosen and tighten in place • Just right of the handle is a bar with a silver mechanism that you can press in to slide the top spiral bar left. (So that you don't have to slowly rotate it back and forth) • Press the top of your apple (stem side up) into the three prongs • Twist the handle and watch the magic! You can also move the wing nut on the peeler device too and slide the small horseshoe shape peeler piece to control how deep the peel can go. You can move with wing nut and slice the circular cutting/coring piece out of the way if you just want to peel your apple (or a potato) without having it cored and sliced; or you can use the small silver metal piece under the peeler like a kickstand so that your apple can be cored and sliced without being peeled.
