Children's 1st Knitting Set

shes just recently starting doing more arts and crafts at school and has an interest in knitting. This is such a brilliant kit to get someone started - as although I do know how to knit, this is better at teaching than I could. You get a good selection of wool (though i have had to buy more) and the needles are made of good quality. All the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Would recommend to anyone young or old to buy this should they want to learn how to knit.

Its an ok knitting kit for the young learner but do remember that learning how to knit from simple instructions is very hard for a child! Someone who knows how to knit should teach the child via demonstrations, this is the safest and most productive method. Knitting also helps improve hand to eye co-ordination as well as many other skills. Theres a decent amount of wool to knit a scarf for a medium sized doll but nowhere near enough to produce something for a person. A bad point is that the quality of the wool makes it harder to create loops that don't look as though they are two loops tightly woven together as the wool splits and frays from the main cord, this in my eyes is the worst part of the product. The best part of this product is that the wool also comes in 1m lengths of the same colour, theres about 5 lengths per colour. This makes the colour changing easier. Im not an expert but i couldn't help but feel that slightly thicker and less pointy needles would have been a better choice for children as it would stop their poor little finger tips from getting sore. With delivery included its not the best value for money, I've seen better products than this in the £1 shop but I will give it an overall OK as it serves its purpose. If you are able to go out to a haberdashery buy some needles and better quality wool, if thats not possible this is the next best alternative.

This was a stocking filler for my 5 year old granddaughter, who wanted me to teach her how to knit. The needles were very rough and the wool was in very short lengths. I ended up buying her new, smooth needles and providing her with small balls of wool which I already had. A waste of money - you get what you pay for!

I am an adult and I actually bought this set for myself as I wanted to learn how to knit via youtube videos and didn't want to spend a lot on products until I had learnt the basics. The instructions given with it are pretty useless, so I recommend either buying it if you're planning to teach someone how to knit or if you are going to watch videos etc. The needles and wool aren't the best quality obviously given the price of the set, but its ample enough material to learn the basics with, and I do recommend this for beginners if you want to use it for a few weeks to learn the basics, and then upgrade to better quality products. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a few weeks though as the wool is pretty poor quality and bobbles and separates easily which can be frustrating.

Lovely little knitting kits. Everything you need inside the box to teach you & help you create a scarf, blanket or hat. Highly recommend if you want your little one to learn or even learn yourself

Lovely little set only let down was the needles they are rough & bumpy which may prevent stitches slipping off but also makes it too difficult to slide them off when needed with better needled wud have been 5stars

Bought this for my 6yr Granddaughter. Very nice little starter kit. Great price. She loved it. All I've got to do now is to teach her to knit !!

Terrible quality . You get what you pay for. The needles are too rough and rounded so the wool doesn't slide . This is cheap but a waste of money as it does not work .

Excellent delivery service and looks just the job. Christmas present for grandaughter who is desperate to knit with me so hopefully will be a good pressie.

I bought this set for my Granddaughter so I could teach her to knit. She was so pleased with it and managed to get going with her first piece of knitting in the first evening. Was lovely to spend the time with her 1.2.1. Didn't cost the earth for so much pleasure.

this was part of my grandson's birthday presents, I am hoping he will use it , as some years back we visited somewhere and he took an interest in the idea of knitting , and said he would like to learn, so have got him this for that reason

cute...grandchild needs some help, but it worked out fine...knitting is hard for small hands...

odd coloured needles in box when it arrived. not well finished. when knitting wool must be able to slide of needles. these needles don't do that. have had to buy metal needles, bought this knitting set for my 4 year old granddaughter.

Kneedles very rough so extremely difficult for a 5 year old as wool kept catching

Needles are rough plastic, not easy to knit with as the wool gets snagged. There is only a small amount of wool. Package looked like it had been opened before and restuck. Basically nothing good about it. I wont be giving it to my grandson, I'll be going to a wool shop and getting something worthwhile!
