The was just for me, the rest of the family could hear fine. With the three bluetooth transmitters I order from Amazon I returned two, BUT all three had a hesitation. It was just enough to drive you crazy, maybe 1/500 of a sec. They all three worked beautifully, just could not stand the two sounds at one time. I think there should have been a warning of such. All three were at a good price and I kept the one, If I have an occasion to be the only one hearing the program and can turn the set audio down, it will work fine.

It works fairly well, but there's some high pitched squeal from a capacitor or something on the inside. If you're not close to it, or can't hear high frequency whines, it might not bother you at all.One thing it does that I didn't see mentioned in the description is that it functions off battery power that charges from the USB. I'd though it just used micro USB for a power supply.

It Functions
It does exactly what I wanted it to do: broadcast an audio bluetooth signal from my computer tower to my bluetooth headset which I can hear clearly from a reasonable distance.
