Used to convert a crosman into a bug blaster
1. The mechanism and cylinder on the bug a salt shred and the crosman vigilante are the same. This works in both. Both are good quality. 2. When empty, this fits the standard .177 pellets, and is way cheaper than buying them seperate for the crosman. (do not put pellets in your bug-a-salt, it will break, possibly hurting yourself) 3. The salt in these is super fine. I would prefer thicker grains, but it might break skin/mar walls if you are not careful. 4. They can be reloaded using tissue paper and a glue stick, rolling papers, or even thin newspaper and table salt. 5. Reminder this is salt! Do not shoot it where it can come back in your eyes! Also avoid cars, electronics, etc., as this will speed up corrosion. This is also true with the crosman barrel so keep it clean, even if just shooting a q-tip or blanks to clear the rifiling. The paper bits can also blow around. Not a big mess or anything but worth noting. Bonus Tip: Put some grease or oil on your co2 cartridge tip before inserting. This can help them seal and not leak, and the puncture rod to stay sharp. I use a light dab of silicone SuperLube, as it is non-toxic and won't stain if some is ejected, although I have not noticed this happening. I have had mine sit for a week between shots with plenty of power.

Works great
Fits perfectly in the Crosman vigilante. Can also be refilled if you want a DIY project. I refilled these using Elmer’s glue, toilet paper, and fine salt.

Shreds Wings, Not Wasps: A Multi-Shot Solution for Tough Pests
For the past few summers, I’ve been battling a particularly nasty type of wasp—the paper wasp. These things are huge, and their stings hurt like crazy! I’d been relying on chemical sprays to deal with them, but I wasn’t a fan of spraying poison everywhere. Plus, those sprays felt like overkill. I also tried the 'RESCUE! Yellowjacket' traps, which work wonders for smaller wasps like yellow jackets, but these big paper wasps just laughed them off. After trying a bunch of methods, I was starting to feel hopeless—until I stumbled across the Bug-A-Salt Shred-Er Starter Kit. At first, I wasn’t impressed. It didn’t kill these larger wasps outright, which was frustrating. But I stuck with it because I was at least hitting them sometimes. While it struggled to deliver a fatal blow, it did manage to stun them and shred their wings, leaving them grounded. They wouldn’t die right away, though—they’re tough little monsters. Here’s the deal: you’ve got to shoot them multiple times. After a few point-blank blasts—sometimes an entire clip—they’d finally drop. Their thick carapace is hard to penetrate, but the salt tears up their wings and eventually wears them down. Once they’re on the ground, finish them off with a stomp or keep a fly swatter handy (trust me, you’ll need it). Honestly, I wish this thing packed more punch. A bigger round or a bit more PSI would make it perfect for taking down these armored beasts in one go. Still, it’s a solid product overall, especially if you’re persistent. It’s not a one-shot wonder, but it gets the job done with some effort.

Not compatible with the Crosman Vigilante
Does NOT work with Crosman Vigilante. I heard it was compatible and it is not. It’ll only fire correctly every few shots as you can see in the photos. I heard it was the exact same Co2 pistol as the Bug Assalt with a different barrel which may be true but the ammo doesn’t work

Bug apocalypse
Absolutely the best gift for the man who hates flies and spiders. I had a crossman pellet revolver that uses the same style of magazines as these so after seeing reviews stating that these worked in it I had to try them ( rather large spider issues and I didn’t want to get too close) disintegrated the spiders every shot, but afterwards I kinda felt bad for destroying a small colony and after seeing the potential for insect obliteration I gave both my pellet gun and these to my father… a man who has absolutely no problem delivering mass destruction to the local insect population in his garage…. The smile on his face when he makes a fly turn into mostly guts is absolutely disturbing and satisfying. Definitely worth getting if you or someone you know has murderous intentions towards insects.

Works with Crosman Vigilante 👍
Slight alignment issue with the Crosman Vigilante, but it works well when closed while properly aligned to the barrel. Easy to reload at home: Coarse salt mixed with corn starch at ~4:1 ratio. Refill magazines with salt mix. Add a drop or 2 of isopropyl to each round. Let dry. Enjoy or store in dry place. (Optional: 3D print a backing to make it a little cleaner. See photo.) In my foil tests, I couldn't tell which was reloaded or original. Even so, these are cheap enough that it's questionable if reloading is worth it to you. I'm still going to get another pack so I will always be ready. "OEM loads" handle humidity much better than DIY. Pure fun. Love it. Compatibility with Vigilante makes this a huge win. Will continue buying more.
