It fits beautifully!
After recently 'misplacing' my original Nikon lens cap, I purchased a cheap knockoff replacement for it at a local big box store. BIG mistake! The replacement was a struggle to affix to the lens, and it would occasionally just fall off, which is unacceptable to me. Although this particular Nikon lens cap was not eligible for Prime delivery, it arrived four days earlier than first indicated, and it fits beautifully! No struggling, easy on and off with one motion, I couldn't be more pleased. I should have ordered this lens cap in the first place...the cheap replacement cap is now residing in my recycle bin!

Fit my Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Lens
Lost my Lens Cap and needed a replacement. I order two off brands that didn't fit before I found this one. It fit perfectly. I use this on my Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens.

Legitimate Nikon Replacement
Use this on my Nikon NIKON AF-S VR NIKKOR ED 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G and it fist perfectly. I bought the lens used and it needed a new front cap. The front lens element sits frighteningly close to the lens cap, so I was a little nervous about buying one online and not directly from Nikon, but this is identical to the old one so no more worries.

Counterfeit, but works ok.
On Amazon I ordered what was described as a genuine Nikon LC-72 lens cap from WildWestStudio; however, I received a counterfeit cap )as seen in the attached photo). They were only asking half the price that other sellers were offering it for, so I went with them. I guess you get what you pay for. It seems to work ok but doesn’t stay on the lens as securely as my genuine Nikon caps.

Cap gets close to the lens
This cap has a center pinch feature, which is great if you have a long lens hood and you can't quite reach down and remove a standard lens cap with the releases on the sides. However, because of the center pinch feature, there are internal mechanisms inside the cap taking up space that cause it to almost touch the front element when you put it on. If there is a small slight of hand and you mount the cap even a little bit off center, depending on your lens, it is easy to touch the front element. When this happened for me, it left a small mark that I easily wiped off with a microfiber cloth. It's still safe for the lens, as glass is much harder than plastic, but I still consider it a hassle to have to be so precise when putting on the lens cap. Also, if you were to drop the lens on the front, the lens cap would provide almost no clearance between the front element, possible transferring the shock to the front element instead of absorbing it. Once again, this problem only presents itself in lenses where the front element is very close to the front mount, so if your lens has good clearance between the front element and the front of the enclosure then you don't have to worry about this problem.

Great Nikon Lens Cover Replacement for a lost one.
Replaced my lost Nikon Lens Cover for a fraction of the cost from a camera store or other online sources. Can't tell the difference between this one and an original factory lens cover. You won't be able to, either. Great lens frame tension. Travel extensively and at no time has this one fallen from my lens. This includes zip lines in Maui, spelunking in Kentucky, bouncing around in a long distance boat race in the middle of Lake Michigan, floating the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, and mountain hunting for Dall Sheep in the Brooks Range of Alaska. This is not a cheap copy. How did I lose the original, then? Left it on a counter while shooting pics at a wedding, while quickly grabbing a candid shot. My Bad.

Counterfeit product
Got a fake cap. No country of origin and really creaky, janky movement. Purchased directly from Amazon ("Sold by Amazon")

Suggest this to replace any NON OEM NIKON 72mm caps. The photo is incorrect for this, it is a center pinch cap.
Got this to replace an ill fitting lens cap that I had, that seemed no matter how perfect it was placed on my lens, it would not lock properly. Feels like this one locks and bites perfect every time I place it over my lens, and sits perfect. Great protection for an 800.00 lens! This is a center pinch cap, unlike the photo shows. I purchased assuming it was center pinch, as that is exactly what I wanted.

Good value replacement for lost cover
I lost the lens cap for my 18-200mm V1, this makes a good replacement to protect the lens. especially as the weight of the front element on the 18-200mm V1 makes it very susceptible to extend while carrying and I keep catching it when not looking!

When only the best will do
The original cap works so much better than the non. I left mine on Lucerne station and had to buy a non Nikon which never held on to the lens properly. Excellent product and service.
