Experience Walt Disney's timeless classic, THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD. Disney animation's humorous retelling of two unforgettable classics, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS and THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, wonderfully narrated by Basil Rathbone and Bing Crosby, brings them together in one magnificent adventure. First, hang on for a wild ride with the fun-loving Mr. J. Thaddeus Toad. When his passion for motorcars lands him in hot water, he must rely on his faithful friends to clear his name. Then, meet the infamous Ichabod Crane whose comic rivalry for the affections of the town beauty leads to a heart-pounding race with the legendary Headless Horseman. Share these high-spirited adventures with your whole family!|Legend has it that the animator assigned to this film departed to serve in the Army during World War II, then returned four years later only to resume animating the exact same sequence he'd been working on!|Several of the characters from MR. TOAD appear in the 1983 short, "Mickey's Christmas Carol": Cyril, Toad (as Scrooge's first employer), Rat and Mole (as collectors for the poor), and two of the weasels (as gravediggers).|The film was originally titled TWO FABULOUS CHARACTERS.|Despite his huge nose, huge ears, and wispy red hair plaited tightly into a pigtail, Ichabod is portrayed as a ladies' man in the film.|"The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" (ICHABOD) section of the movie is one of the few instances in a Disney film in which a bully -- Brom Bones -- gets the girl. Review: 'Tis the season for a Halloween classic - I'm of the generation who watched a show Disney aired every Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. I think it was called The Wonderful World of Disney and it was a combination of things – like cartoons, wildlife segments, films, etc. Watching Disney on Sunday nights was a thing we did and then went to bed. I remember both of the films in this set being among the Sunday night selections with Jiminy Cricket as the emcee. My favorite is, of course, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, though not exactly true to the original tale by Washington Irving. But it works for kids and adults alike. My dad used to watch all of our shows with us, which is a nice memory from childhood. I also remember the baseball film about the Mighty Casey, which also aired in the time slot. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is pretty cute and can really be viewed at any time. But the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is definitely a Halloween favorite that I still love to watch as an adult. Bing Crosby is the main voice/narration for this animated film and his voice is a real throwback to a specific time in my childhood so it's also nostalgic. The animation and sound of the Sleepy Hallow film is just as crisp and wonderful and magical now as it was when I was a kid. And there's some bonus features that are nice too, especially for modern kids seeing this for the first time. Recommend. Classic
This is a stone cold classic from my youth that I still watch yearly at Halloween time. Not to be too much the old man shaking his fist at the sky, but the animation, production, humor, and music of these vintage cartoons just seems more special that the CGI churn of today's. If you or your kids haven't seen in, or haven't seen it in a while, I would highly recommend.

You Might Just Lose Your Head!
"The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" is a wonderful collection of two classic tales about two of literature's most unlikeable likeable characters. Clocking in at just over an hour, this film spends the first thirty or so minutes telling us the story of one J. Thaddeus Toad and his "mania" with motorcars that lands him in the big house. His friends Badger, Rat, and Mole join together to try and prove his innocence. In the second half of this film, we see Ichabod Crane trying to make a move on the lovely Katrina Van Tassel. Eventually he has a run-in with a local legend, the Headless Horeseman. The two "heroes" of these tales aren't your typical lead characters. Mr. Toad lives a wild, carefree life in which he spends himself into bankruptcy over "manias" that he pursues. Ichabod Crane is after Katrina not just for her good looks, but for her dad's fat wallet. Somehow these two antiheroes make you pull for them in both of these tales. The DVD transfer is good considering the source material. The audio is excellent, and Basil Rathbone and Bing Crosby sound charming as they tell their respective tales. There is some grain on the film throughout most of the movie, but this is passable. The music is fun and I'm sure that this flick will hold the attention of any youngster and most adults. Included on the disc are the short "Lonesome Ghosts" featuring Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck. There's also a few previews. For those who take the time to play "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" trivia game there's an extra cartoon short, "Susie The Little Blue Coupe." Overall, this is one gem of a film that no true Disney fan should be without. With Halloween having just passed, this would have been an excellent show to let children watch on that holiday. It's great fun to watch any time of the year. Highly recommended.

A Classic from Disney
The Adventures of Ichabod Crane by Disney is a must for anyone who enjoyed Halloween as a child and each of us, no matter if you're still a child or an adult, this classic animated story is ideal for everyone. I still have the old VHS tape by itself, but being repeated being watched over the years, the tape is starting to show its wear from watching along with grand kids in the family. However, I did not care much for Mr. Toad, because the story has nothing to do with Halloween and both the DVD and the Blu-Ray disc left off the introduction piece of the Ichabod Crane that was in the VHS tape.

Enjoyable Classics!
I love these two Disney short films. I'm not sure why they have been put together, but they are both very enjoyable. I grew up watching the Ichabod cartoon, but I believe it was called "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" when I saw it on TV, it was not put together with Mr. Toad. Only when it was released on DVD was it joined. I owned the VHS Copy for years, and still do. Bing Crosby the narration for the Sleepy Hollow part (Ichabod). His narration, and the animation make this an all time classic. Adults and children will be watching this decades from now. Its over 50 years old already! The adventures of Mr. Toad or "Wind in the Willows" is a classic cartoon as well. Watching it really lets me know why the ride at Disneyland is called Mr. Toads Wild Ride. Watch these both, purchase them, and enjoy. You will be glad you did!

While "the Wind in the WIllows"half of the film is not my favourite, it's fairly fun. However, the latter half of the movie more than makes up for the first. Every Halloween every year, I watch "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". What a masterpiece. Funny, fun and with a great and spooky ending. Obviously the movie couldn't go into some of the awful things that Ichabod was about in the original novel(and the suggestion of Brom's involvement in the end), but it does enough to show he's morally bankrupt. The Headless Horseman sequence is one of the best scenes in a Disney movie and the songs are fun and memorable.
