HP - 17.3" Laptop - Intel Core i5-8GB Memory - 1TB HDD

Got it today and have used it for about 5 hours at my desk and I must say this is absolutely an amazing laptop. I mostly am using this for web surfing, e-mail, music, pictures, video and light gaming. As far as I've tested its easy set up, great speed, good wifi connect, graphic and picture definition is great too. If you're picky with sound quality then I'd recommend getting an external speaker, I use my Auvio speaker with it and sounds great! Youtube/web videos run great no lag problems and dvds (after media player set up) run problem free. I was never a fan of built in laptop mouses so I just use my external mouse which connected instantly without hassel. The built in web cam has some pretty good definition and would probably be good enough for webcasts and such. Now, as far as gaming goes before I say more I'm just going to make this clear that this laptop is NOT for heavy pc gaming. If you want that you'll have to spend more for a laptop that's built for it. All my older pc games (Heroes of Might and Magic 3&4, Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwar, Age of Empires, and Risk) all worked flawless with no problems at all. Also played some games right on my browser and all worked fine. Now, as far as my newer games go (Starcraft 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic 5) they will work but you will have to lower resolution for them to work consistently. If you're picky about game resolution again you will have to spend more on a gaming laptop that's better built for them. But if you're like me and do offline story mode play only for pc games and can compromise with lower resolution for newer games then this laptop should be good enough. Overall, unless you're a heavy pc gamer this laptop is definitely great for all your other basic computer needs. The only thing I don't know if it's good for or not is video editing. I definitely do not regret this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone. UPDATE: Anyone who plays Fortnite or other battle royal games for pc this laptop can handle it. But as I mentioned above you will have to set the graphics quality to low for best performance as these are not actual gaming laptops. My xbox wireless remote adapter works great with it, connected instantly.

I've had my laptop for a few weeks now and LOVE it! Setup was easy and issue free. I was previously using an older model HP that was running Vista Business...so as you can imagine Windows 10 is a huge change for me, but this system has made it easy for me to make the switch. Although I love all the updated programs on this laptop, I was very happy that I was able to load my old Works 9 program on this system (I've kept a journal using this program since I was in junior high and didn't want to lose it). I was apprehensive about buying a laptop online and having it shipped, but I've had absolutely no issues and am extremely happy with this purchase.

look and feel 4/5 17 inch display 5/5 1 tb hard drive 5/5 8 gigs ddr4 memory 5/5 (more than enough for basic use) keyboard 5/5 hdmi/usb ports 5/5 (good and tight fit when plugging in usb devices) dvd drive 3/5 (feels flimsy when pushing disk on spindle) touchpad 5/5 processor speed 5/5 graphics card/media playback 3/5 (local videos will sometimes block/distort) wifi 5/5 (only b,g or n but very good reception) bluetooth 4/5 (disconnects once in awhile,but not too often) windows 10 home 3.5/5 overall its a very good basic laptop, if you do basic stuff ,you will like it. 12-7-2017 update internet randomly stops working although it stays connected. windows diagnosis says dns error and default gateway error.i tried a few of the online fix suggestions but none worked. i'm not sure if this is a hardware fault or windows 10 fault. i used a ubuntu live cd to try and see if it did the same,but unfortunately the wifi hardware wasn't detected. so minus a star

DO NOT BUY THIS - YOU WILL REGRET IT. The preloaded security program was McAfee. It failed - would not open - could not run a scan or anything - on DAY 5. I had to take it to the shop ($$$) and 30 minutes one way. They ripped out McAfee - THEY had to get support from McAfee to get it out. They installed a different security program - ran fine - for 2 months. At the very start of month 3 - the laptop powered up - gave a message - called shop to interpret - message basically said I had no operating system. This was interpreted as the startup could not "find the hard drive". (security / malware / spyware scans all ran clean prior to failure). They wiped it clean, and reloaded from a backup. They have no idea what was wrong. (A+ certified tech) I can include my order number if there is any doubt about "verified purchase". No electronics from Amazon ever again for me. I got this on sale for $521. Strange that this was the ONE order Amazon never asked for feedback on. I have had 3 laptops over the past 15 years - I had minor problems with ONE out of THREE. After 5 years or so - I expect it to fail. I expected to have this one last a couple of years. What a disappointment. Also, the laptop is designed so that a local repair place cannot get at the hard drive. Nice.

This replaced my older hp with an i3 processor and slower memory. I love the larger screen and the faster processor and memory. I couldn't have asked for anything better at the price range I paid! I read through many reviews online before I bought this computer. It was always in the top 5 at this price range for performance and reliability.

I wasn't sure about buying another HP computer because my former one had to have the hard drive replaced four times in three years. It never seemed to work right from the time I bought it. This computer has been a really pleasant surprise. It's very fast and so far problem free which is great.It was also a very good price for a computer with Intel core and large memory and storage capacity.

It’s an ok laptop, but DEFINITELY flimsy. I fear taking it off my desk. On the bright side, the screen looks good and is HUGE. Perfect for movies!

It has a aarge screen with great resolution. Enter button is unusually small, the keyboard is different, but can be adjusted for.

works great not a fan of windows 10 so changed it to 7 works awsome

I find it very slow, considering I don't have many apps loaded. My older HP seems faster. Somewhat disappointed.
