A simple product that simply provides what it promises: an even bright light to illuminate slides and negatives for scanning. it is small, so perhaps not as useful for a large number of items to be scanned, but works extremely well for the small number of slides that I needed to scan. Images are high quality and editing tools were effective.

It's not extremely bright, but the light is evenly balanced from end to end. It's been great for going through my 4x5 & 8x10 negatives & is extremely easy to store. I only gave it 4 stars because the port for the power cord is a bit problematic for plugging in; a bit tight. I really wish they would have used a USB-C for a cleaner connection. Also there is no power button so you have to constantly plug & unplug it.

Perfect. I use it for scanning old slides—and no batteries needed. The charging cord comes with it.

We were thinking to replace our old - really old - slide viewer when we got into a slide organization mode. There are plenty of the old fashioned ones with an incandescent light bulb behind a transparent plastic screen that is held up at an angle by some sort of device. They work, but the light is always variable over the screen, it yellows with age and of course the bulb gets hot. This is an entirely different animal. It's small, light weight, is a singular screen that sits flat on any surface. The light is evenly distributed over the surface, with two levels (I almost always use the higher level) and powered by a standard USB connection. (I don't recall if a cable was included - I think it was - I have so many that's not a big deal) I just toss it on top of any handy surface and toss the slides on it. The illumination is fine to get a clear view of the transparency. I imagine it would work for film strips and negatives as well, but I haven't tried it for that.. Being able to just toss the slides on the flat screen without them needing to be carefully placed on the little rows of the old fashioned viewers is nice. Sliding them around to organize them any which way is a snap. I'm thinking of getting a second (or third) to organize more slides at once, or in different places. At this price why not. To think nothing of the energy savings and lack of heat. A cool deal.

Excellent backlight pad! This not only made a big difference in how I scan negatives with my iPhone using Photomyne, but even regular printed photos look better when placing them on the backlight pad to help reduce overhead light glare images when scanning. I am glad I got the larger one since it will handle larger printed photos.

This worked well to create a digital copy of old slides. Excellent value.

it works fine, but I needed the ability to adjust the brightness for my application in astrophotography. Otherwise is a great size and very bright. I just didn't read the description carefully enough.

Me duró apenas un par de meses, no lo usé inmediatamente cuando me llegó porque tuve que mandar a revelar rollos, y ahora que le he estado dando uso constante, me dejó de servir, no prende...ya lo probé con distintos cables y nada. Una cosa a considerar, es que no tiene botón de encendido ni de intensidad...o está prendido o está apagado. Ahora, como ya pasó el tiempo, no podré devolverlo y necesito uno para digitalizar mis rollos. Simplemente dejó de prender...no lo recomiendo.
