An unexpectedly awesome Mazinger variant
Wow! I love this thing! I have no real idea who or what this robot is. Apparently it is a suped up for of Great Mazinger similar to how Mazinger Z was superpowered into Mazinkaiser. This particular version was only used in the Super Robot Wars video game. Which is a shame. Because the robot and this figure are glorious. As much as I love the Mazinger family chogokin, the Maz's start to get a bit of a sameness to them after awhile. Same basic color scheme. Just the ever more powerful ones get a bit spikier. This guy breaks that cycle. He is clearly a MAzinger variant, but he is so striking and distinct that he really stands out in your collection. That glorious cape/scrander/wing mixed with the gold highlights is amazing in hand. This figure is huge for an SRC. Easily the same size as or slightly bigger than Mazinkaiser. He might be the largest figure in the line. About the same size as some of the smaller SOC's. He stands somewhere between 6-7". And he is heavy with a nice hefty metal content. His articulation is about the same as Mazinkaisers, which is uncanny. He can hit any pose you can possibly dream up. The only hindrance is the removable cape. His articulation is on par with the best Bandai or Sentinel have ever made. Paint and finish is top notch Bandai. Like a new car.His extra features are ok. He has the usual extra hands. His huge sword. His cape/wing and a replacement effects part chest crest that looks really cool. Not a lot but enough to have some fun. The only thing missing from his game appearance are 2 smaller swords that connect at the hilt. The absence of which is notable but not that damning. This is an odd ball variant subject exclusive to source material that most of us have never had access to. So there is no real emotional attachment to the robot... but with that said I am going to unexpectedly call this guy a MUST HAVE for SRC collectors and Mazinger fans. It is just that cool and that gorgeous. It forms an eye drawing centerpiece to any robot collection.

I would like to buy another one!!!
This is a very good toy. The movement is definitely great and the joint on the shoulders as well as the ankles can be pulled out so not only it can make a lot of limb movement, the body balance is well handed. Even after putting on the cape, it still stands but the position will be limited a bit since the cape itself is so heavy. Other than that, this product is huge, almost 1.5 times a Great Mazinger chogokin. Details are well displayed. The special effect part is so eye catching that my friends told me that they would buy it just because the special effect. It is a heavy figure, be careful not to fall on the floor! XD

Can't compare to the regular Chogokin GX line
The paint of the Chogokin is certainly good. However, the ankle movement is very limited. It just making it very hard to do any good posture. Also, this Chogokin is head and back heavy. It just make it ever hard to stand straight simply because the lower body does not contain enough metal component (the ankle joint is not metal). Many of the hand gesture parts are impossible to change because the pop in holes are too tiny. Therefore I had to return mine. If you like the regular GX line you don't have to spend a $120 on this...
