L.R. Baggs Session-VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Guitar Pickup System

L R Baggs Session is an outstanding pickup. It allows my acoustic guitar the natural sound it should have plugged in.

I purchased this pickup on Reverb and installed it on an expensive 000-42 Martin custom guitar. I play through a Fishman Solo SA330x which I like a lot. Except for the B string, single notes sound nice and clean, although the highs sound a bit too electric in my taste. The B string consistently generates a buzz in the PA system, and no adjustment has helped me remove it. Strumming is very muddy, in fact so muddy I can't even recognize my guitar. I tried all possible adjustments but cannot quite get a decent strumming sound and am disappointed in that regard. Fortunately, I tend to finger pick more than strumming.Also, if you decide to purchase this system, please be aware that the under saddle wire will significantly raise your guitar's action. I had to both shave the bone saddle and tighten my truss rod clockwise (1/4 turn) to be able to recover the lost action. Finally, expect to lose a little bit of volume when you play your guitar unplugged.
