well worth trying (if you do it right)
there are 2 ways bug spray can work.one is pretty unrealistic, but seems to be what most people expect. they want to see a bug, spray it, and watch it fall over dead immediately, like you shot it in the head. i've never seen any spray do that consistently.this spray does do it sometimes. trust that if you spray a live bug. it may run and hide, but will be dead in under a minute. though you may not have the sadistic thrill of watching it die.the other way is that you thoroughly spray where bugs seem to go. in our case, in an apt building (without much control of cleanliness in kitchens below), it's the edge where the wall counter meets the wall. spraying there a couple of nights before bed and now the bug don't come here. it's like our place is crossed off their list.ir's a more long-term solution than spraying bugs one at a time. and for this job, this spray works great. it does reek, but of a natural not-awful citronella smell, that is surely what scares the bugs away. unlike toxic sprays, our cat doesn't mind it.i'm guessing, as one would expect from a constantly migrating herd in search of new food sources, i will eventually need to do this for a few nights again some day. but that's a biology thing, not a fault of the chemistry here. there's no such thing as a permanent solution.

Is not unscented
Smells like citronellol which gives me headaches. I should have not ignored that 1st ingredient. It does do what I needed it for. I have what we call here in Texas tiny little crazy ants and drive you crazy is what they do. I sprayed it around my windows, door and on my tires and braces of my RV. And it's definitely slowed them down. I've started having a few of those TEXAS SIZE Cockroachs move in because of the few storms we have had roll through and just one spray got em. But just a spray or two will run me right out of a room. Which I learned the hard way because that's just how I've always done things. Made the mistake of using it on that Roach at 12 midnight just before bed. That was a lesson well learned.BreakdownGeranium oil has a floral scent with green notes that SOME describe NOT ME as:Sharp and herbaceous: With a sweet minty-rose undertoneSlightly more aromatic: Similar to rose, but with a hint of citrusFresh and fruity: With rosy, minty, and citronella-like notes TO ME IT SMELLS LIKECITRONELLA. Supposedlycitronella carries the fragrance of citrus in its foliage. And to others that may be so, but to me it's a HEADACHE IN A BOTTLE.Main ingredient is Geranium oil which is often used in perfumery and can be used as a rose substitute or to aid rose accords. Some say that geranium oil can be emotionally balancing and uplifting, and may be beneficial for stress-related conditions, PMS, skin conditions, and hormonal ups and downs. Needless to say I've had none of those benefits...Also supposedly you can freshen up geranium oil with citrus oils, or bring out its floral notes with jasmine. Hey , I've 3 bottles to experiment with. Hopefully I don't wind up in er with migraines. UGH!Would I recommend this product. Well of course to someone I dislike or someone whom I know just loves the smell I citronella!

Works GREAT but leaves a long term smell for me
I give this product 5 for fast work on a horde of flies I recently got inside my home after my sewer line collapsed. I was so sick to my stomach with the amount of flies - it looked like a scene out of a Demon movie or something in every window.I barely sprayed this around one window (having it open for ventilation as I've never used this product. For me, within 15-20 seconds, the flies stopped flying around and nearly all of them landed on the sill and were just walking around scrubbing their front legs. I was able to just lift the screen and let them all just "walk out", then closed the screen behind them. That was when I noticed the "Smell". Others list it as a citronellol-like smell, and I agree! The spray is more of a MIST, and I think that is why the scent went through my entire house (again, because I had the windows open for ventilation purposes). This is definitely not a chemical smell, but more of an all-natural type. I don't get headaches easily, but if you can't stand citronellol, then you will not like this item.I allowed the sprayed areas to sit overnight, and then wiped them down the next day to make sure I cleaned any residue off the windowsills.All-in-all: THIS STUFF WORKS! (for me at least) I have two feline brothers, and I needed something other than a harsh chemical spray to rid my house of my particular infestation. Get Rid of Raid and try this!!!

This works even on carpenter ants!
I have been through several natural products to try and deal with the carpenter ants that have invaded my kitchen. Some work a bit, but other products pretty much just slow them down enough so you can kill them with a shoe. This stuff WORKS.I've only been using this for three days. I started with just laying down a good bit near the door I suspect they are coming from. The next day I still saw ants but they were barely moving. Earlier today there were about 30 swarming in my kitchen sink! So I sprayed the whole sink down and watched. Within a couple of minutes everyone of the ants was dead. So, I think to kill these guys they need a direct hit, but it definitely will kill them. I think if it's not a direct hit and they just walk through the barrier, it slows them down but won't kill them. It also seems to be a significant deterrent. Rather than seeing dozens of ants swarming near the trash can, since I sprayed a few hours ago, I've only seen a couple and they looked to be near dead.In just 3 days I have used about 1/5 of a bottle and I suspect that this will need to be reapplied everyday for effective control. I bought a 3 pack so I'm hoping that is enough to make the ants realize there is nothing in my kitchen worth their lives and they will choose life.
