Do your research before you buy. This might not work for you.
Make sure BEFORE YOU PURCHASE that this is the kind of adapter you need. There are two kinds of adapters: active and passive. This item is passive. I ended up having to return it. We were trying to hook up my grandma's older keyboard to her newer PC. The keyboard still had the old style, round connector. Whereas, the PC only had USB ports. We thought we just needed to convert the shape of the connector. We were wrong. This item once connected did nothing. My husband did some research and realized his mistake. We needed an active adapter. We purchased the TRENDnet USB 1.1 to PS/2 Converter, TU-PS2, hooked it up between the keyboard and PC, and everything works!

Won't work in all cases
On my modern windoz pc, these did not make it possible to use an old ps2 mouse as I had hoped. No reason to think it defective - another adapter failed as well - this is apparently due to an incompatibility between the mouse and the pc.

Good Idea, Lousy Results
I have a fav PS/2 mouse that I've had forever. I tried this gizmo to bring my mouse along when I moved to my new PC. Didn't work. Rather than spend most of my life figuring out if it needed a driver or something--or was this gizmo broken?--I found a very similar USB mouse for @ 20 dollars and got on with my life. I see no compelling reason to get this gizmo when a new mouse doesn't cost much more. And no fooling with software to make it all work. Thanks for nothing, Startech.

Like everything else
Like everything else, there are good and bad quality devices. When I was shopping around for PS/2 to USB adapters I found cheaply priced adapters. The reviews for those devices confirmed the cheap quality. When I saw the StarTech's adapter, I knew it was good quality. I purchase a lot of computer equipment for my company. I have never been disappointed with StarTech products.Shipping and package condition were good.

This product does not work
No connection made when connecting a Logitech mouse to a MacBook Pro or iMac. Doubt it would work with a PC either. Poor fitting may be the issue.

Works as expected, feels from the era
It looks and feels as something from the 90s. I am using it with a Dell QuietKey 102W (made at the beginning of the 90s) and it works perfectly.
