Best value for money
Good quality production. Had to get used to the stiff slide in click and unlick of the frames. I wish the top shade would be mounted left and right on top. When mounted to my DJI RS3 Gimbal the top shade tends to vibrate due to it's single mounting point in the center, allowing the side corners of the shade to shake. Other than that this Matte box is perfect. Using Neewer ND Filters and it holds it perfectly. Love the quick mount rings and option which makes it easy to swap the box from one lens to another within seconds.

lightweight and ultra handy
This was one of the last pieces needed for my setup. It is lightweight but super solid carbon fiber. Easy to open and setup to shade the sun. Also comes with all the popular sized rings needed to screw onto your camera lens. Simple single screw thats mounted onto the matte box to tighten down to the trim ring to mount it to the camera lens. folds up and easy to store. comes with a velveteen bag.

Great ROI
Every now and then I get impressed with a bit of gear. I am impressed with this matte box. I shoot in the wind, rain, snow. I lug gear on my back, on a pack animal and in my hand. Swamp, desert, rain forest, glacier, and studio. This box scores home runs in weight, ruggedness, compactness, versatility, and it actually blocks the un-wanted light. Filter change and access is reliable and quick. Today the snowflakes (water type) were working hard to attach themselves to the lens, the French flags made it difficult for them. If you need a tax deduction, buy several. If you want a versatile and effective matte box where ROI rules this is the one.

Another great product from Smallrig!!!
Hard to go wrong with anything they make! Great quality, well-made and excellent thought processing and design consideration. I liked this one a bit better than the single-door model they offer.

Sturdy for what it's made of.
Just had a little fall with this thing today. Carbon fiber is always so brittle and easy to break but I was surprised that when cracks did form, the overall structure still held up and as a result the damage is merely cosmetic. I gotta say I wasn't expecting that.It fits nicely on all my lenses, especially with the myriad of adapter rings they included. It just so happens that my three primary lenses all have different requirements and therefore I never have to change them out when I'm switching lenses.Holds my filters snuggly, I never have to worylry about that. Can rattle a little bit when filming and moving around but that's when I'm moving a lot. Capturing external audio makes this a non issue, but for run and gun it can be a bit of an annoyance.Performs great, the doors never flap around, although the top door does tend to get crooked every now and then forcing me to gently bend it back in place on its hinge. That's a bit worrying.Still recommend. You get a lot for your money.

The ultimate lightweight matte box
Very light weight even with three flags and filter trays. No need to mount to rods!

Great light weight matte box
This a great matte box. I’ve got two now. It’s lightweight and attaches and detaches quickly to screw on mounting rings in the you lens filter threads. It comes with a selection of mounting rings including 77mm and 82mm which is great if carry a 70-200mm and 24-70mm everywhere you go like me. Switching lenses and popping the matte box from one lens to the other is pretty easy. There’s a bracket that holds the side flags and brackets that holds filters. Filter brackets are stackable so you can use multiple filters at once. The side wing attachment goes stacks over the filter brackets.

A great Matt box on a budget
I never knew if I needed a mat box. Until I see that a lot of the videographer I seen would always have one. So I decided to get one. This definitely enhances my rig. And it makes me look more professional. But I also helps taking out weird, flares, or reflections. This is definitely an item you want to get if you are a videographer.

Almost perfect but
The Mini Matte Box is very well made with quality materials, would have given it 5 stars all the way if didn't cheap out on the adapter rings. The adapter rings are very hard to screw in, I tried on many lenses with the same results, I have some High end filters and they are so easy to screw in compare to the SmallRig adapters.I wish they made the adapter rings with better quality materials ( like brass ) and sold them individually.

inexpensive, but also bad design and feels cheap
Just got the matte box. The price is excellent, and it's very light, but sadly that's where the good things stop. The matte box feels flimsy. It's made of quite thin and flexible plastic including the filter trays, and the filter tray system needs the entire front (the part that holds the flags) to be removed to add or subtract filters. I'd be very nervous putting any decent filters in those trays. I'd probably just return it and buy something better, except I'm fairly sure because I opened the box, amazon won't let me.

Poorly designed: major flaw.
This matte box has a major flaw: it is nearly impossible to install the filter trays properly without using a lot of force, which of course you do not want to use around a 300 dollar filter and a 3000 dollar lens. The problem is the design: you need to slide two plastic trays together with a lot of friction, and the locking device--a set of tiny plastic tabs--do not fit each other well. I'll be sending it back and spending more on something better and useful. This flaw makes it nearly impossible to change filters in the field, which of course ruins the point of this product.

Avoid at all cost
I used Smallrigs products before and they worked well, but this matte box is a garbage product that you should avoid at all cost. The quality of construction is cheap and the plastic filter trays do not fit well in position. They do not clip well together and that is unacceptable. You don't want a cheap matte box that will break easily. Get one that is more expensive, but of better quality and that works. You get what you pay for.
