Great for seeds
This is really decent coco coir. Easy to mix up. I have found that it's very good for starting seeds. Leaves the seeds moist as it drains well. I also layer my mix with the top four inches plain. Then below that, I have worm castings and some small foam beads. Also add time relese general fertilizer pellets. Having big plants, indoors, under LED lights. It's just good stuff and it smells right.

Cost Effective Gardening At Its Finest!
I'm an avid gardener, I've tried various soil amendments, and this product has quickly become one of my favorites. Pros: Filling raised beds is expensive, with these coco coir peat bricks you get a great value for a great price. It is a great cost effective solution, I mixed it in with moisture control gardening soil and worm castings. My garden is beyond thriving! I used the coco coir as a component in my potting mix from seed starting to transplanting and it worked wonders for my plants. Its compressed form makes storage and handling a breeze. Its easy to use, just need to soak in water for expansion. When soaking the brick, I normally place it in a bucket and fill it until the brick is fully submerged and give it some time. It provides excellent moisture retention, great for long hot summer days. Cons: The water retention can become a problem for overwatering or root rot. For those who already overwater the bricks when expanding them, its a good way to learn how much water is too much water. I noticed after purchasing, these coco coir bricks have no perlite. There are other brands available that have added perlite. Perlite works great for moisture control as well as preventing soil compression. I definitely will try those next and see if I like them better. When removing the plastic packaging, it releases dust. It is a great idea to unwrap the coco coir brick inside a bucket to reduce dust fallout. I do believe the uneven sizing stated on the other reviews, could be a quality control issue. I ordered two 8pks and all my bricks were of equal size.

Good stuff. Fluffs up nice, not too powdery, not too stringy.

COMPLICATED -- There MIGHT Be a Problem Here
Hey it's Coco Coir -- standard stuff and it was a fair price. I found these smaller bricks easier to break up than my usual purchase of one large brick. The problem is that ever since I planted I've had what appears to be lawn grass sprouting alongside my valuable plants (see photos). It's been about two weeks now and still happening on a daily basis. These potted plants are only indoors, and there's nothing in these pots except the coco coir, vermiculate, pearlite, a Rapid Rooter, and one seed each. (The lawn grass is coming up nowhere near the Rapid Rooter, so I don't think that's the source of the problem. I've used this same batch of Rapid Rooters many times without incident) The flower pots are nowhere near the outdoors or any other plants. I contacted the vendor who was very nice and offered me a $3 partial refund, which I politely declined. I do NOT think these folks (or this product...) are malicious or careless or evil... but the fact remains that I still have bad stuff growing where it shouldn't be growing! I've been trying to carefully dig each one out without damaging the actual stuff I planted. I've read up on ways to sterilize or pasteurize the coco coir, but not sure I want to risk trying to carefully remove the plants to do it. If I have this all wrong and someone out there thinks the source of the trouble is NOT the coco coir by all means say something -- I'm ready to be proven wrong!

C'est long à défaire. Doit tremper plusieurs heures et défaire à la main à plusieurs reprises mais super qualité au final. Prévoyez 3 ou 4 heures devant vous pour tout défaire comme il faut.
