Not as great as the reviews made it out to be.
You’re better off spending the $145 on a window unit that will actually cool your room off. Very disappointed because I thought it was gonna work great like the reviews said.Bought because it had so many great reviews but it did not cool off my small room like many reviews said it would. It blew cooler than a regular fan when you added water and the ice packs but it still would not cool off the room it would only feel cold when the fan was directly hitting you. And it took quite a while to fill with water since you have to fill through a small hole.

Very Nice For The Office
This little guy is excellent for an office or bedroom. Very minimal noise level while doing a pretty solid job keeping the room cool. I originally had the bigger version in my office but have moved that one to the family room and this thing does its job perfectly. I do recommend having more ice packs (than the ones it comes with) if you indend to run this 24/7. Otherwise some parts of the day the air you are blowing won't be very cool. Great product! Highly recommend if you do not have A/C.

Cooler than a fan and best at close range
I’ve had this fan for a couple months now. I live in LA with no AC so these past few months have been brutal. I had a regular fan in my bedroom but it still wasn’t enough.PROS: this fan definitely cools better than a regular fan. The addition of the cold water makes a big difference. I found also putting additional freezer packs in the bottom of the water container helps even more. Even if I don’t fill it with water, the air still feels cooler than a regular fan. The fan is also pretty quiet. The button control beeps are louder than expected but that doesn’t bother me since you only press them to adjust settings.CONS: definitely not as powerful as I expected. Will not cool down an entire primary bedroom but if you have it set up near you it’s a game changer. It’s also shorter than expected (I didn’t read the measurements so that’s on me). When I had it on the floor, It was mostly blowing under my bed so not as effective. With that, i took off the wheels and set it up on my dresser to have more direct airflow to the bed and that made a huge difference. Lastly, filling it with water every couple of days is kind of a pain but that comes with any water fan. I found it’s a lot quicker to take off the filter in the back to pour the water directly into the water chamber vs slowly pouring it through the top like the instructions say.Net net: way more affordable than the larger portable window units but less effective. Works great if you’re able to set it up within 5 feet of where you’ll be sleeping/working/etc. Not worth it if you’re trying to cool a bigger room equally or a more open space (like a dinning room). It’s definitely saved me from the hot summer.

Beeps very loudly
I got this because my bedroom is on average 2 to 3 degrees warmer than my living room and I am a sensitive sleeper. Since I started using this, my bedroom became the coolest room in the house. It's not going to make a huge difference but it definitely helps. The thing that's unfortunate is that you cannot use the timer function and go to sleep. There is no way to mute the sound, and it beeps loud enough to wake the dead when the timer turns off. I figured this out the first night I tried to use the timer function. I was startled awake in the middle of a deep sleep when the timer ran out, and I was unable to go back to sleep afterwards. It ruined my whole night of sleep and I was exhausted at work the next morning. As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn the sound off. This is a major design flaw and I can only give it 3 stars because of it.If you're going to use it in a bedroom, make sure you pre-cool your room for several hours before you go to sleep, and turn it off before you lie down, especially if you're a light sleeper like me.

Didn't work for me
The house I'm in has A/C, but does not seem to reach one of the bedrooms, which typically runs 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. I bought this unit for that room hoping it would help cool it off. Despite having a larger tank, the bulk of the water sits in the bottom of the tank, inaccessible to where you'd put the ice packs or fresh ice. Because of this, the bulk of water is at room temp if you actually fill it up to capacity, and the little bit of ice you can put at the top does not last long given the heat of the room. It seemed to work best when I'd take cold filtered water and pour it in late at night, then add ice to the top, but even this was short lived where it actually had a cooling effect, otherwise it pretty much operated as a fan. I also had to do this nightly because if I filled the tank, the warm water (leftover from previous fill) would make the new cold water I poured in back to room temp. For the $ I spent and after reading a lot of the reviews, I was hoping it would cool the room better than it did.

The Frustration Continues
I wanted a cooler for my bedroom but I stroke out again. If you see my review on a different model note that this one is even worse. No strength when it comes to blowing cool air, even if you are sitting in front of it you can barely feel a little of cool air. It kept turning off in less than 10 minutes. The buttons are not user friendly. Water tank is harder to access, and hard to drain. I am definitely done with these coolers. Too bad my apartment windows are not set up for a portable A/C, I wouldn't be able to vent it out.
