Whiteside Router Bits 6001 Round Stile and Rail Set with 1-Inch Cutting Length

These are superb router bits. I take care to ensure my wood is jointed and squared up properly, and I use good router technique and a powerful Milwaukee router in my table. I am nearly finished a large kitchen remodel with 34 hard maple cabinet doors, plus a number of end panels, and the bits still cut crispy with virtually no tearout.

The 6001 bit set makes excellent clean cut edge surfaces in a variety of hardwoods (& softwood) for great door applications. Make sure you get the right set of cutters for either full 1/4" (domestic) plywood inserts, or, get the the 6001 and 6000X, a separate set of cutters for 5.5mm imported plywood. You are probably going to end up using 5.5mm with very limited North American production of thin hardwood panels staying with 1/4" as the standard. Whiteside does make this set with the 5.5mm cutters standard, but then you'll be rabbeting any full 1/4" panels down to the 5.5mm thickness.Again, Whiteside continues to make the best router bits you have ever or will ever use. Older router bits can not match either carbide or design produced by this Company. The Claremont, NC. based Whiteside is a treat for any professional or accomplished woodworker.

Whiteside bits are not cheap by any means. You get what you pay for. I live by the adage that you buy the big cheap set of all the bits and when one breaks, replace that one with quality. When I have a choice I choose Whiteside. They are the most durable, lowest chatter, highest quality bits I have found. Definitely my favorites.

I do not have anything to compare these bits with, but the way they perform for me is excellent.
