BT Digital Voice Adapter Phone Range Extender Only Works With BT And EE Digital Voice Service

I recently had my landline phone upgraded to digital voice as the old analogue network is being turned off. My landline phone was not close to my broadband router so I used this digital voice adapter to connect my phone to my router via Wi-Fi. The adapter is easy to set up and works well. Would recommend.

Couldn't get to work but signals in our village very poor anyway

After having full fibre installed we realised the phone & the hub weren’t in the same place! We also had a monitor that “phones home” occasionally. Got 2 of these, real easy to set up, less than a minute each. Phones back where it should be. With the oncoming demise of analog phones lines, these are a must if you have more than 1 phone (or device) in your home.

Arrived promptly in a robust carton. Not as fancy as the one free 13 amp plug type supplied in the original BT Digital Voce installation....its power LED is smaller and round rather than an illuminated logo....but that is not important. Since this is now a wireless system, all the old existing telephone extension wiring is obsolete, usually going dead. One is connecting the BT Hub's cable into the Broadband box where the wiring enters the premises....so the telephone socket below is redundant....UNLESS a telephone socket is all one has, then filters are required for existing handsets....NOT these devices. After following the enclosed printed guide to introduce the extender accessory to the BT Hub for the first time, while powered up, the unit becomes wirelessly synchronised with the system. It can then be plugged into any convenient power outlet elsewhere in the house, providing a standard telephone connector socket onboard into which one can plug one's older existing handset. It will remember its link even if temporarily removed from power for plugging in within another room. A separate unit has to be 'trained' for each phone required, EXCEPT for just one that can be plugged directly into the BT hub itself. When an incoming call rings, you may find that phones in the house ring in relays, rather than all at once....so best to wait before the phone close at hand rings before picking up. Digital phones do not require filters or extender units.

Says, in the heading, that it works with BT and EE hubs. I've got a brand new EE router and it will not connect despite being only 25cms from the hub. Buyer beware!!

Ordered as I have now been upgraded to digital voice by BT. Whilst this isn't the same model advertised by BT (the show the EE version) I ordered this one as I did not want to have to create an EE account to obtain the one on offer by BT. Very easy to set-up, keenly priced and works perfectly with the BT line allowing me to retain my answer phone. Fully recommended.

Great item if youre a bt consumer and not bt business user as routers wont work ,,,, BT Digital Voice (DV) adapter likely won't work with a BT Business router because DV is designed for residential Smart Hub 2s, not business hubs, which use different tech (like Cloud Voice IP phones) and lack DECT, meaning the adapter can't wirelessly connect;
