Just what I was looking for
I started with the Blackhawk Serpa Tactical drop leg holster and although it was a very nice unit it wasn’t what I was really looking for.I then found this one and it looked more like what I wanted. I received it today and it’s even better than I had hoped for. I needed a holster to wear when I’m deer hunting and backpacking where my backpack does not interfere with the holster. I thought the Serpa tactical holster was what I wanted after seeing it on a deputy sheriff so I gave it a try first. If I was in law-enforcement I would probably have kept it, but I’m not. This holster in my opinion is much better suited for my needs. It stays closer to my body and is not quite as low. It doesn’t look like it’s going to become snagged on brush and get in the way like the other holster would. I also like the flap that covers the gun so it’s not as much in your face when I run into other people on the trails. One of the best things about it is my Sig 226, my Sig 1911, and my XD 40 subcompact all fit in the same holster. With the Serpa unit I would’ve had to buy two other holsters for my other guns. That alone saved me quite a bit of money and the fact that this holster came in at half the cost of the Serpa it was really a much better choice for me.If you’re looking for a holster set up and have similar needs as I do I would highly recommend giving this one a try. I am anxious to use it when I go deer hunting next month so I can really put it to the test but I can already tell it is a quality holster that will last for a long time.

Awesome thigh rig
This is a well built thigh rig from BlackHawk. I bought this to run my Glock 17 in. My POU is for hunting, hiking, fishing, pretty much anytime I am outside in the woods. Is this the fastest holster to draw from, no. With practice it can become quick. The sticting is very well done, with a very high grade nylon. I would reccomend this to anyone who is outside alot and carries a sidearm with a backpack on. For more tactical use, I would reccomend the Serpa drop leg holster. Overall this system works well and the price is outstanding. Im surprised this one doesnt stay sold out.Update 2/25/17: Went camping for a long weekend last week. I used it all weekend, worked perfect. It stayed where it was never sagged, never adjusted itselt. I ran with it, and performed practice drills. Flawless!! Best thigh rig I have used.

Stellar outdoors holster
Blackhawk! makes some pretty good stuff, and this is just one of the many products that evidence their reputation. The holster is made out of very durable nylon that shouldn't have any issue being scratched, rubbed, or beat up by anything in the outdoors. The leg strap is very adjustable, and is rubberized to prevent movement. After hiking with it over a few hours, I had absolutely no issues with friction/chafing or stability, and I'm confident that I could run with this holster on without any issues (even with my XDm 3.8" .45). You will need to buy mag pouches if you want to store more than one extra magazine on the section above the pistol. My only real gripe with this is that the holster can't hold a pistol with a light/laser attachment on the rail. Other than that, it is an absolutely stellar product. It makes little sense that they stopped producing these.

You'll be dead by the time you have the pistol out.
It's a pretty comfortable holster and it holds the pistol securely, however it is very slow to draw and you cannot keep the flap open all tge time as the buckle will hold it out and it will snag on just about every thing you walk by. This holster is perfectly fine if you just want to have a pistol on you and you do not have to draw in any hurry, it takes around 4 to 5 seconds to draw.

For me works best with web belt and flap
Works well with a web pistol belt and the flap closure. It doesn't fit me if I try to secure it to my pants belt, luckily I have a US military pistol belt that goes over my pants belt and it fits it perfectly. I don't like the thumb break included (super easy to remove though), if you use that, the buckle (which closes the flap over the pistol) flops around and that gets on my nerves. Largely irrelevant to me as I plan to use this with the flap and buckle to protect my pistol (and my car) from random scratches/bumps. The holster does a great job of protecting the pistol and fits a full size 1911 with rail, but I suspect it will fit almost any semi auto pistol, or at least the most common ones e.g. the Beretta 92 series, Springfield XD or ubiquitous Glock. I am not enamored with the velcro as that attracts brambles, but the stitching seems well done and the materials are of adequate to good quality. I would prefer military style snaps as opposed to velcro but I can live with the holster in its current form. Keep in mind this is not a "high speed" or "quick draw" holster, it is focused on protecting the pistol with the added bonus of being relatively inexpensive and fits a wide variety of pistols.

Perfect for 6" Full size 1911 10mm/45 Super protection mounts on regular belt or battle belt
This holster is very well made. Been shooting all my life, firearms instructor, and hunter. Bought this for severe use in tough hunting conditions. This is very protective of the firearm. I have a 6" 10mm TRP Operator and this fits perfect. A little tight for a few days but holster seems to form and mold to it. Barrell is completely protected/covered and does not stick out. This would work great for any full size 1911 five or six inch barrel. When flap is down there is no fast draw at all. When cover flap is left open and you rely on the thumb break, you can access fairly quickly. I had this on while crawling (literally) on hands in knees in the brush looking for wounded animal. This holster protected the gun perfectly. I use it with a battle belt set up and it just makes a great grab and go package. I have alot of holsters, alot, but this one protects the gun the best.
