Really enjoyed this mafia romance!
This was the first book I've read by this author, and I am so mad I left this in my TBR for so long. It had me completely hooked with the plot, and writing was phenomenal. I enjoyed the twists, and the slow burn was delicious 🥵 Their chemistry was instant and intense! Angelo was the antihero we all love! He was dark and dangerous, vicious! But we all love a bad guy, especially when they're as hot as him. Loved the connection between him and his brothers and the devotion to his mama. Rory was a good girl who is attracted to bad things 😉 She's sweet but is snarky when she needs to be. She has a backbone but the situation she was in forced her to constantly push down her urge for violence. She had down some petty bad things but her guilt drives her to the need to confess and atone. I love her bird curse words 😆 I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gripping mafia romance with a sexy dangerous MMC.

A TRUE touch her and....
I have heard so much about this series online and it did not disappoint. The book read a lot like a reality TV show. The characters, the backstabbing, the jealousy, the secrets. Rory was an admirable, smart, and almost innocent FMC. She really wanted to take care of her father and got herself in a horrible situation. However, I found it difficult to believe that she wasn't smart enough to find the records to show the true ownership of the Preserve. With that being said, Angelo Vicious Visconti turned me into a puddle of goo. He wanted to hate Rory but he couldn't. He yearned. He loved Rory in her natural curls and her sweatpants. He killed every single man who touched her without blinking an eye. He brought new meaning to touch her and die.

Okay but not my favorite

She copes by calling Sinners Anonymous, a hotline that people call and confess their sins, and visiting a popular cliff in Devil's Dip. It's on the cliff that she meets Angelo Visconti, her fiancé's nephew, who has returned after years of being away. They are curious about each other and are drawn to one another. Stolen moments together become more frequent and they can't find their connection. Angelo wants Rory and plans to fight for her, but it might cost him everything. This was an okay read. I liked the premise of the story and the angst was there. I love how obsessed Angelo was with Rory once they finally got to be together. I wish we would've got more of that throughout the story. It felt like he didn't like her until the end. I know part of that was the internal battles he was fighting about returning, as well as making sure his uncle didn't figure out his feelings, but it still felt off. Books two and three did a better job of showing their romance as side characters. Seeing them in books two and three made me wish we would've had more time with them as a couple in this book. Unlike a lot of reviewers, I actually didn't mind the bird puns. I found them funny after awhile because it was so absurd. It was Rory's quirk. One if the reasons I rated this lower was there were quite a few grammatical errors and misspelled words. I'm not a stickler for that, but it was pretty frequent and kind of surprising. It definitely needed to be edited a bit more.

Dark
I don't know how to describe this book because there is so much going on. It is a dark mafia love story with elements of mystery and intrigue, along with some steamy sex and violence and trauma. The MFC, Aurora "Rory", goes through alot in her young life and sacrifices to help her dad. The MMC, Alonso, is much older and left town almost ten years ago after the death of his parents to become a honest businessman instead of taking over for his father in the mafia. He came back and found the young Rory engaged his 70 year old uncle but was immediately infatuated with her. Their story wasn't an easy one to conclude but their relationship reaches a finality in this book, even though the story continues on the next book. So, ultimately a " war" has been started within the family.

Fantastic
Great read. Spice is lacking in most areas but the story is great. The sexual scenes were fade to black which irritates the mess out of me. It definitely could have been better. However, again, the story was there and it was great. Should also mention that this was my second time reading it since the fourth book has finally been released after THREE YEARS!! So yeah, I still highly recommend.

i really loved the book. The characters are amazing and you want to read the story of all of them when she describes them. Rory is wonderful and Angelo couldn't be more perfect. but I missed more interaction between the main couple. more romance between them, more pages that make you addicted to the couple, more than you already are. I think it could be a longer book, with more scenes of Angelo and Rory together, developing the plotwist theme while the couple is together. I wanted more time with the main couple. ps: I'm CRAZY to read the Tor story! hope she plans a book for him in the future

I really enjoyed this book. But this is not as dark as I like to read. The slow burn is way too slow. But I like the plot and storyline. ✨🤌
