So, I finally decided to bring the TORCHSTAR Metal Desk Lamp with Clamp into my life, and let me tell you, this lamp is a total game-changer. First off, the build quality is impressive—it’s constructed from solid metal and feels like it could survive a minor apocalypse. I was genuinely surprised by how sturdy it is. If you’re tired of your lamp wobbling or tipping over just because you accidentally nudged it, this is the lamp for you. It’s like having a personal bodyguard for your desk.Now, the clamp—oh man, the clamp. It’s seriously one of the best features. It attaches to my desk with a grip so tight, I’m pretty sure it could hold on through an earthquake. I love how it eliminates any worries about the lamp falling over when I reach for my coffee or elbow-deep into a project. It’s secure, reliable, and it keeps everything in place like a pro.Setting this bad boy up was a breeze. The clamp mechanism is straightforward—just twist it on, and you’re good to go. The adjustable arm is a dream come true. It bends, twists, and rotates into just about any position you could need, allowing me to direct the light exactly where I want it. The design, the construction, everything about it…..WOW! It’s been a long time since I’ve been so impressed by a product I bought, sight unseen. I’m very happy with this product, and at the price I paid for it …. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat!

Arrived quickly. Much more thin and lightweight materials than expected but base is heavy enough to support the lamp. Feels a little flimsy and positioning the arm is not very smooth or flexible. Certainly not an equivalent replacement for my old 1960s swing arm pulley assisted draftsman lamp. Clamp is some type of plastic-rubber and flexes a lot so will not get super tight but also probably won't split or crack -- I bought it for the multiple direction clamp feature but ended up using the base and taking up desk space anyway. It is small but cute (i.e., Pixar). Although most any standard base bulb will screw in, the head is really designed for a PAR30 short neck bulb (not included) which will add several dollars to your investment. But not a bad little light for the price.

This is not a bad lamp, for the most part. At first it was a real problem for me but after loosening the screws a bit it became a little more manageable. There was a problem when I tried to screw in the bulb, it was a loose screw in the socket. I hope the manufacturers read this so that they may take better care. I wish that the cone were a litte bigger so that the bulb isn,t so exposed but, it does the job. I like the on off switch on the cable, as it leaves less possible mechanical malfucntions. Again, I found that if I just loosen the screws a bit it turns out to be a good lamp for your desk. The clamp works better than the base for my needs. It leaves more realestate (space) on my desk. It is a good lamp as far as being simple but functonal. The price is right too.

So, it works fine. But its made for mini bulbs. Not standard bulbs. And it doesnt even work with equivalent 100w led bulbs, even tho thats far less than the 40w limit of the lamp.If you're buying this, just know standard bulbs wont fit it properly. And 100w led bulbs wont even work at all. Its good enough in a pinch though, and a 60w equivalent led bulb functions fine, just gotta tilt it away from yourself because the shade does not cover it properly.The bulbs Amazon recommends getting with this WILL NOT WORK at all. And you need some 40w mini, or up to 60w led bulbs to use this. The base is good, im not trying the plastic arm. But the weighted base is quite heavy and it works nice.All in all, was thinking it was a standard lamp for LED bulbs because of Amazons recommended bulbs to buy with it. But considering those wont even turn on in this lamp. And its quite short power chord. I cant give it over 3 stars.

OK the only reason I’m giving it a four star is I think it needs to be about a $13 light if that maybe $9.99Reason being is the base is an absolute piece of crap and the lamp itself is actually really nice. It’s super lightweight. Very easy to carry around. I’m buying seven of them for when I do my Jewelry trade shows.However, I’m telling you right now the plastic clamp that holds it to the table it blows my mind. It’s 100% plastic. That thing is not gonna hold up and the base that it comes with not that I would ever use. It is absolute garbage. it broke immediately out of the box however, with that being said, it’s super bright definitely is going to work for my purposes not to mention it’s not bulky and it’s very lightweight. I think my review is very honest.
