I had a torch ordered and in que for delivery. It was more expensive but appeared to look the same but being less expensive i was worried that the quality wasnt going to be there. its made well and it has a serious torch. It worked great and I can't imagine the more expensive one being built ant better.We have a partial stone driveway with a weed barrier which makes it difficult weeding by hand. I didmt want to use chemicals. So this just blasted it all away.One recommendation is wear goggles and mask because burning all these weeds i ended up with swollen eyes when I woke from allergies and I have never been one of those overly allergic people.

It is a beast. The flame is very powerful and burns grass in an instance. Other than that...It is very tricky to regulate the flame - my be the roller valve is not operating properly.Most significantly, it throws the flame atop the burning cylinder burns the wire insulation.The defective torch was replaced by the manufacturer. Thank you for the replacement.I found it very useful to burn out weeds on the pathway and in the concrete pavement cracks it makes wanders.The touch does it work. It takes some time to learn how to work with it.What can be improved - the valve that regulates the flame is very sensitive. It takes some time to adjust to it. Even on the low setting, when I press the trigger all the way the force of the flame burns everything it touches. When the trigger is released, the flame sometimes stopps.

This makes short work of killing weeds along my ditch line and around my gravel driveway. It's also fun to use to start fires in my large burn piles. I hook it up to a 15lb propane tank and either carry it with me or I strap it to a dolly for longer distances. The push button ignition works perfectly. This fires right up every time. On full blast this thing can melt you face off.

This is amazing! I bought it to kill the grass in our driveway and to go along the edge of our property. I was so tired of buying weed killer and having to use it multiple times. This method is so much easier and quicker!Just make sure you have a 20 lb tank and the threads are reverse threaded. I would highly recommend this product.

I bought this to kill weeds in my asparagus bed. It does the trick. It's not immediately obvious how long it takes to kill a particular weed when you're using it. It takes about a full day before the plant will turn brown and wilt. If you linger on a weed long enough, it will cook before your eyes, but that's probably wasting propane. I use the "boost" trigger most of the time on a group of weeds. I can get within a foot or so of an asparagus stalk without effecting it. Toting a 20 lb propane cylinder gets old pretty fast, so I lashed the tank to a hand truck (dolly) with bungee cords.This unit seems well made. I'm happy so far.

I purchased my first garden torch, or weed burner, about 2 years ago. I bought the cheapest one I could at the time and was pleased with how fast it eliminated the weeds in my patio pavers. The one thing I didn't like it that is was temperamental - one day it would burn hot and hard, and the next it wouldn't. Also, I usually got a back ache from bending down as the wand wasn't back friendly. Then it quit working. I value a weed burner highly as our landscaping has a lot of rock "flower" beds and patio pavers. What used to take me 3 hrs to weed took 20 minutes (or less) to burn.THEN this beauty entered my life. WOW! It is about 5 times fast, much more comfortable in my hand (love the design of the gas lever and the slight curve of the neck) and really puts out the heat! I just finished up all my burning in 45 minutes instead of 3 hrs+.

Worked great...twice. Third time around I kept having to ignite it but it would only stay lit for a few seconds before basically shutting itself off like the tank was empty. Swapped out the tank with a new one and the same issue, almost like the hose or torch itself is clogged. Shame this happened a few days after my return window closed, pretty annoying.

Works very well, just crack open the propane a quarter turn then slowly open the control valve on the handle and push the ignition, and squeeze the trigger. Works great!

This is indeed a flame thrower! It's important to point the nozzle straight down so the flame doesn't "travel" toward your feet. It is a powerfully effective flame.

My husband loves the "flame thrower"! No it doesn't throw flame but is an easy to use versatile device that kills driveway weeds, heats sealing products as per directions and he find it fun. Only complaint is the igniter doesn't Always work so he uses our bbq lighter to igniter the system.

A great substitute for chemicals kills weeds on the gravel drive

This thing destroys weeds better than anything I have ever tried. Love it!!!
