Works perfectly on a 1 1/4 inch Closet Maid rod
Make sure to use the set screw to tighten it onto the rod and it will fit snugly.This is not made of rubber although it looks like it. The end cap is a very durable metal that matches the rod. Much nicer than the one I purchased at Home Depot.

SCREWS WERE PAINT SHUT
I USED THE SAME CAPS FOR MANY YEARS. THE NEW ONES SEEM TO BE MESS PRODUCED AND THE SCREWS ARE NOT PUT IN SEPARATED. I GUESS IS THAT THEY PUT THE SCREWS 1ST THEN WENT THRU THE PAINT FINISHING. THUE THE SCREWS WERE PAINT SHUT! I COULD NOT GET THEM UNSCREWED! PERHAPS, JUST MINE?

Small warning
I had the same issue as a previous reviewer. The screws were painted over so you’re unable to turn them at all. They are tiny & weak so if you try, it just strips the screw head. I was able to gently tap them onto the end of my pole though & they fit tightly so I think they’ll be ok.
