NDS 900BKIT 9-Inch Catch Basin Kit, Black I bought three of these catch basins to fix a drain in the backyard. After checking home depot I realized amazon had a much better price on the exact same product. So I figured I would order from amazon and save some money. The product itself is made out of strong plastic. There is a removable grate that has two screws to keep it locked in place. The 4” connectors lock in place after screwing them in. I would recommend using 4” flexible drainage pipe with these connectors as 4” pvc hard plastic pipe did not fit. I would also recommend using duct tape to the connection of the pipe and the catch basin to ensure a long lasting fit. For my home project I leveled out the trench in the backyard and ensured a proper slope. I then put these catch basins in the ground. The line was connected to the drain spout on my house. I ran a hose inside the catch basin to make sure my slope was working and water would be removed. I didn’t notice any leaking or the connections coming lose. The catch basins have been in the ground for a couple months and I haven’t had any problems. Generally these catch basins are used to help clean out leaves and other junk that get stuck in drain pipes and clog them up. I have some catch basins connected to drain spouts and other catch basins in areas where my neighbor’s water would seep into my yard. Overall I am very happy with the deal I got on amazon and the high quality of these catch basins. I would buy this product again if needed. These drains are great. Been using these for years. Easy install very universal. Durable and clean. The kit is very handy as it gives options for multiple drainage connections to tile water away. Great quality

Seems expensive for what you get. It works good and seems durable. I just wish it was cheaper.

This catch basin comes with everything you'll need to collect and dispose of excess rainwater (except for the pipe). I'll be installing mine to capture runoff from a sloping paved driveway drain system and route the water away from the garage parking area. After digging a short trench for the catch basin and 4" diameter PVC pipe, this project will be done. By the way, I made the mistake of buying Schedule 40 (thick-wall) PVC pipe and fittings to complete this project, only to find out that Schedule 40 does not fit this catch basin properly. Fortunately, I was able to return the thick-wall pipe and fittings in exchange for the correct thin-wall PVC (also called sewer drain pipe) materials.

I like the ease of operation the fact that it will work with 3 inch and 4 inch pipe I have 4 inch pipe and because of the connector to the box. It works so simple. It’s beyond belief.

I bought 3 of these catch basins and have installed them in the ground under 3 of my down spouts. They work perfectly in my application as I get a great amount of tree needles and debris coming off my roof and the catch basins help prevent the stuff from getting into my drain pipes and clogging them. They also give me access to clean out and run a hose into my pipe to maintain a good water flow. These are made very well and will last a lifetime I'm sure.

These worked great for our recent drainage project. Very sturdy and fit the 4" drain pipe well. We now have these off all gutter and french drains that take the water 20' away from the house to a more shallow culvert. This way, we can monitor the system for clogs and proper water flow. Very happy with this product.

Have to use silicone caulk liberally on the two joints, and especially where 4" pipe fits in. They claim it's 4inch rigid PVC compatible, and yes it does fit, but when you dual design the product for 3" you really only get 3" of flow diameter based on how they designed it. Could easily be redesigned for both 4" and 3" full flow with little cost, otherwise would be 4 stars. Buy a tube of silicon caulk for each box you need. DO NOT USE LATEX CAULK, it won't work! Top grate is pretty sturdy. Also recommend to use 2 rubber couplings on either side of your PVC close to the box to allow for easy removal if you need to pull it out for some reason.

good quality...golf course application...needs a bottom punch out that matches the fittings...like the 12" NDS boxes I use regularly...
