From Marvel Studios comes DOCTOR STRANGE, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident renders his hands useless. When traditional medicine fails him, he travels to remote Kamar-Taj in search of a cure, but instead discovers the mystical arts and becomes a powerful sorcerer battling dark forces bent on destroying our reality.

Rewatched it after watching the 2nd one and enjoyed it more than the 1st time I watched
This is a true must-see movie in my opinion. I do not normally give movies 5 stars as i prefer to give 4 and have people actually read them instead of glossing over any 5 stars as fake. This is not a fake review at all. I prefer to give 4 and then qualify it in the details section, but let my joy get ahead of me and I clicked 5 and then save before I forgot. LOL. Anyway, the theatrical version was much better than the first time I watched it when it came out. You cannot go wrong by either renting this or purchasing it if it is not too expensive. It makes me thirst for a Theatrical release of the 2nd film in the Dr. Strange realm. I hope there is another one. They can keep on making these and I will keep on watching them.

Entertaining
A different plot, bizarrely exciting, but a little weak in a couple of spots.

Not Mister , its Doctor Strange
I was a early fan of the comic book by Steve Ditko who had such a vivid imagination to create this mystic world with astral planes and Black Arts that finally made it to the big screen after unsuccessfully trying in the 70's with a TV movie at a time when effects were hokey . I seen this film at the theater in 3-D where the effects were awesome but like many , only have Bluray but it really doesn't take nothing from the story in that format . Cumberbatch did a great job in the role and the director whom I'm not familiar with , Scott Derrickson who did a good job co writing and directing this mystic film .The film use humor in a good way and the story isn't hard to follow even if your not a familiar with the character . Though the plot device with that character wont hurt the series and I find Chiwetel Ejiofor a good actor stars as Mordo and We shall see more of Mordo in the future films . The CGI is similar to Inception but using them more in the story to create a mirror universe . Mads Mikkelsen as the villain the casting is excellent . The story moves along quite well without any boring spots and must say I enjoyed this film . The film clocks in at 115 minutes and has closed captions in English , French and Spanish, oops and I almost forgot to add , please stick around for the entire end credits .

3D is the only way to go to see Marvel's latest blockbuster
I don't understand why a CG movie like this that is so wonderful in 3D is not sold in 3D format (unless you want to pay an arm and a leg) on the Amazon.us site. Are they hoping to get us to double-dip later on? The 3D version is already available on Amazon.uk at a reasonable price. Luckily I have a region free player since Amazon.us seems to think that if they push UHD4K we'll be fools enough to run out and spend more thousands on hardware that can play it. It appears that the British are smarter than that, offering almost everything I want to see In the 3D format. I finally got my husband to watch a Marvel movie with this one and he was impressed with the advance in CG technology. His comment: 'If only Max Sennett could see this!" As for the movie, Doctor Strange has always been my favorite Marvel character and Benedict Cumberbatch is exactly how he is pictured in the graphic novels and the animated DVD. His character moves seamlessly from arrogant know-it-all to a mature hero that believes violence is not the only way to save the world. The supporting cast also give their A-game. The producers say that they were thinking of doing Doctor Strange after Iron Man 1. I'm glad they waited, since now they can go all out with the magic and give us a real thrill ride.

I screwed up…
I screwed up in that guy wrote the wrong with you for the captain America set. That entire set is 4K, and would not play on my Blu-ray player. However, Doctor Strange included a Blu-ray disc, and that is the one that was near perfection! So note that your 4K DVDs will not play on a regular Blu-ray player. And as I mentioned above this, Doctor Strange set included in addition to the non-playable 4K disc a beautiful Blu-ray disc. The colors and the sounds were astounding on my 65 inch Samsung! I am still buying 4K discs and I can’t wait to actually get a player that I can play them on! Lol .
