Mountaineering First Aid: A Guide to Accident Response and First Aid Care (Mountaineers Outdoor Basics)

This book covers all the basics for first aid treatment out in the bush. It is not meant as a quick reference guide, but it is also not advertised that way either. I brush up on all my skills by thumbing through this book every spring before my climbing season begins. Its depth and breadth are perfect my my needs, and the pages are marked up and dog eared on my copy. If you need more information on the topics (which I recommend if you spend a lot of time in the mountains) you should take a true Wilderness First Aid certification course. If that seems a little too much for your needs at this stage, buy this book!! Accidents happen in the mountains, *sometimes* by no fault of your own. Better to be prepared.

This is a must-have for anyone that's serious about backpacking! My husband thinks he knows everything, but I think it's best it be prepared so I went ahead and bought this last year. We haven't needed it yet, but I'm happy to have the knowledge and skills ready should the situation arise!

Great book that touches on a lot. Would recommend it to anyone. For what I paid for it I couldn't pass it up.

It is a great book. It gives examples of how to take care of injured people in the wilderness. It has a very readable quick reference guide to tell you which page to turn to if you forget what to do in a certain situation.

Of all the first aid literature I have, this is the best in organization. I can quickly reference a topic and the lanuage is "meat and potatoes;" no fluff. I highly recommend "Mountaineering First Aid: A guide to Accident Response and First Aid.
