I recommend this if you’re into the retro vibe
So far so good. I’ve only just started reading this. It’s great to have this collection of these old and classic stories. Suitable for kids and big kids alike. Graphics are truly excellent as you'd expect. Giled pages and well bound. A must have for any Marvel collection. Penguin have done a great job! The price at Amazon was unbeatable! If you're a Marvel/Lee/Ditko fan, just get it, you won't be disappointed.

Stupendously beautiful edition
With the fabulous original editions of 1960s Spiderman and some previously unseen Marvel comics with precursors of Aunt May and Uncle Ben this edition, in hardback, is a real pleasure to read and enjoy. And there is a few nice words by thoughtful fans too. Definitely recommended by this UK based buyer.

This book is very nice, the gold finish makes it look even beautiful and the contents are picked to perfectly display who spider-man is and why he has become so popular. The people packaging and delivering damaged the item however (by presumably cutting something else in the storage room they cut into the spine of this book, and when delivering the corners were damaged). So if you are planning to keep this in perfect shape, this might not be the place to buy it from. Overall, still a pretty good buy but I'd like to request to be a bit more careful with these books!

As a huge DC comics fan and collector, I was always a bit hesitant to get into Marvel (one publishing house is expensive enough as a hobby). But since I'm a huge MCU fan, owning all the movies on BluRay I was always very much interest into Marvel and the history behind the work the movies were based on. The only Marvel comics I ever read before this were "Civil War" & "Secret Invasion." As a literature student in college, these three editions are absolutely perfect and almost seem made for me. This is the perfect starting point for any collection, or just for people who want to check out the start of these characters. These volumes feature various forewords and introductions by scholars or writers. At the back of these volumes you get some further reading lists, just like any other classic literary work. It's for this very reason why these three volumes are worth picking up. The books themselves are absolutely beautiful with a nice matte finished feel to the paper and it makes the colour pop. For me personally, it's a good starting point because I want to write my bachelor thesis on why comic book stories can be equally as important as any other significant literary work. These three editions help build that argument, besides that, the stories themselves are pretty amazing (see what I did there). Especially this Spider-man volume; it features almost all the iconic rogues he is known for in his movies and more. Yes, these additions are a bit pricey, but if you are fan of comic books, or literature in general and you want to dive a bit deeper than a normal collected volume: this should be worth all the money. You won't regret it!
