REVIEW: FIELD JACKET LINER M-65, OLIVE DRAB: BARE BONES TAILORED PATTERN WITHOUT POCKETS
I WISH TO THANK BILL & JANET DISCOUNTS FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE! THE FIVE STAR RATING IS FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their Follow- up emails helped me make an excellent hard to find purchase. PLEASE NOTE: ALL COMMENTS ARE MY OPINION ON THE OVERALL DESIGN OF THE FIELD JACKET LINER OLIVE DRAB M-65 Field Jacket Liner. My Review: FIELD JACKET LINER M65, OLIVE DRAB SIZE: MEDIUM NO ACCESSORY HOODIE: There is no accessory HOODIE with this Accessory M-65 Liner: There are BUTTON HOLES FOR ACCESSORY HOODIE- Currently; I haven't found a accessory hoodie that would fit- This may be my next purchase(??). My current MEDIUM SIZE M--65 Field Jacket has a thin cotton hoodie built -in the zippered collar. therefore I thought this Liner would have an accessory hoodie sold together with it. The Liner has THREE BUTTONS ODDLY SPACED TOO FAR APART. I was able to properly button up the liner but I still felt that there should have been an EXTRA BUTTON to keep me warmer. Despite these buttons being spaced too far apart- this M--65 Field Jacket Liner is QUITE COMFORTABLE! WITH fairly good stitching. UNFORTUNATELY; THERE ARE NO INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR POCKETS. There's only the two" Under Arm Zippered Access" to allow your body heat to escape when the jacket gets too warm to wear. The positive side is that this M-65 Field Jacket Liner was really warm and quite comfortable. As a base layer: The M-65 Field Jacket Liner also was a good fit for my GORE -TEX WOODLAND CAMO rain coat. There is a definite NEED FOR DESIGN IMPROVEMENT: In terms of design improvements; This OLIVE DRAB M-65 Liner does have the button tie downs --- ITS NICE AND WARM BUT FEELS WEIRD WEARING IT. LIKE YOU'RE WEARING THE "BARE BONES" TAILORED PATTERN without pockets! WE MEN LOVE POCKETS!! I noticed that if pockets were to be installed it would make a great light weight jacket similar to the 3-in -1 jackets online! Despite the NO POCKETS issue ; if you are looking for a liner for your M-65 Field Jacket Olive Drab contact: BILL & JANET DISCOUNT on their website. Sincerely; Your "Verified AMAZON Reviewer" Tony Tirado

Fits military issue woodland camo M65 field jacket great!
as I have several types of M65 jackets...this liner fits the woodland camo genuine military surplus field jacket great, button holes line up for the large size M65 with the large size liner. However if you try to use this with the non military Rothco jacket the button holes do not line up and the liner will bulge out and the zipper won't work without snagging the liner. Long story short, use this with a genuine military issue field jacket of the same size for proper fit. very warm, smooth easy to get into, well made as most genuine military items are.

Best inner liner and affordable / simple/ light weight package
military liner that works well for under layer, for those that have never served and used this item out in real world environments: point blank plain and simple, throw this under as a base layer and it will turn your thin outter layer fashionable jacket into a warm jacket, it retains your body heat while being light weight, must have for austere environments without the bulk.

Works, but the buttons are in the wrong place.
I purchased this for my Rothco field jacket. I got the size XS to match my XS jacket. The liner fits well inside the jacket, but the buttons that attach them do not line up with the button holes. I know how to sew so I can just remove and re-attach them in the right place but it may be a problem if you can't sew. I've worn the liner with it unbuttoned and it works just as well, it just looks a little weird. Another thing, if you haven't ever worn a field jacket with a liner, they are HOT. Too hot, in fact, for most circumstances. I would not wear the liner unless the temperature was well below zero. If you're outside and it's not absolutely frigid, especially if you're doing physical activity of any sort, you'll be sweating. This isn't a bad thing, of course, as some people may need that level of insulation.

Quality Garment
I've owned M65 jackets for years and have owned just 2 different brands; Alpha Industries and Rothco. Both great brands (Alpha being more durable brand). I don't like that the Alpha lining is tight at the ends of the sleeves so I went for the traditional lining style like the Rothco one I purchased. It fits just a tad bit big but really nothing uncomfortable or unbearable. Before you make a purchase keep in mind both M65 jackets and linings in general run big. I got a large lining for my large jacket. Another thing to keep in mind about both of those products is that the M65 together with the lining will keep you warm in the cold weather, but it is not the type of jacket to wear in single digits to below 0 temps. Anything below 30 degrees then you may start to feel the cold... But... With that being said, I became a little creative and one day threw on 2 linings with my M65 on a day wear temps were in the single digits, and most definitely did the job and kept me nice and toasty. Be careful and avoid overheating if you're going to ever try my idea. Overall if your mindful of the cold weather and know how your body reacts you'll be just fine with this product.

Durable
It’s lightweight yet surprisingly warm, making it great for layering in cold conditions. The genuine military issue quality is noticeable in its durability, but the fit can be a bit boxy, so it’s more about function than fashion. If you need something tough and practical to keep you comfortable in varying weather, this liner does the job well.

exactly line original issue.
exactly what I wanted. fit right down to the last button. I can wear my old BDU jacket when its colder out again without having to layer using other jackets. Someone asked if my BDU coat was new the other day, they last forever, and now I know where to get the quilted liner in the future. I also have my first issue fatigue jacket in green. gonna get a line for that now too.

Fits Well But Has Strange Seam Or Something And Now Popping Seams
I am 6ft 180lbs with long arms and normally wear a large/tall jacket so I purchased a medium to fit nicely under a jacket. Medium fits nice with no real concern for regular arm lengths since my outer jackets cover me to my gloves. As seen in the photos, there is strange seam or something running vertically on one front panel. This stitching is coming undone in 2 places after wearing the liner under a jacket twice. Don't know if it will hold up. Update: Had to reduce review from three stars to one. See additional photo where the rear shoulder seam pulled out with normal wear after only 2 weeks. Front strange seam from original review continues to unravel in some places.
