AVG 2012 Anti-Virus 1 User [Old Version]

Stay Away!
Well I used free AVG in the past and had good luck with it. So I thought I'd try the retail version for greater protection. So I tried AVG 2012 on disk being that I seem to get a lot of email virus attempts. After installing it I noticed I started having trouble with various automatic updates then manual updates to software programs. Then complete lockups and requiring a shut down and restart to get back operating. I felt AVG had to be the problem. So I tried deleting it through the Add Remove tab in Control Panel. To my surprise I could not delete it without downloading a special program. I finally got rid of it and now no more problems. Hummmm. I did some talking to some computer geeks who said they no longer use AVG because of problems experienced like mine. So my advice to all is stay away from this one. I'm running Windows XP Pro.

reboot message
It works fine but I cant get rid of the reboot message no matter whaqt I do. Of course rebooting does no good. System is Windows 7 Starter on Toshiba netbook. Help!

Keep my computer up and running great I love this programI scan it at least twice a month and I had no viruses and allthank to A V G .

use AVG--
I prefer AVG for all my safety and security on the internet. Have had such poor luck with symantec or macaffey. My computer doesn't slow down, easy to download and have had no problems finding and removing viruses/worms/trojans.

Works well
This program works well and finds most virus programs. It doesn't bog the OS down and AVG allowed me to upgrade to the 2013 version at no cost. Will use this product again.

AVG's Customer Service is simply awful
My AVG antivirus software recently detected three Trojan horses on my hard disk, which caused havoc with my business and computer.However, the program was unable to remove these viruses. Now, I know AVG's software is not infallible, and I was glad that it had at least detected the viruses (which other known products could not).After much difficulty, I managed to send AVG Customer Service an email explaining my problem, and I received a prompt receipt confirmation, case number and this promise: "Customer service is our top priority and we will respond to your request as soon as possible." That was the last I heard from them, and that I find unforgivable and irresponsible.

Possibly difficult to install
I have used Macs for a long time. I bought this for my mother who lives in another state. She had trouble getting it installed, but it apparently works now. So, tech-savvy people should have no trouble with this product, but be careful is it's for tech-challenged people with no help.
