Updated Nostalgia
My son has been into Transformers and watching all the old cartoons and wanted the Constructicon set. Feeling nostalgic, as I had the original Devastator from the 80’s when I was a kid, I wanted to get this for him. This rendition is surprisingly far superior to the original toys.I was wondering if the Chinese knockoff would be inferior quality with cheap plastic, but it's actually solid with a high quality feel with many of the parts, like the scoops and shovels, made of metal. The joints are slightly stiff, which feels good. Glad they weren't loose and brittle. Someone spent time engineering all these toys to work cohesively together. They’re like little 3D puzzles you can’t put down. The original had so many extra sidepieces that weren’t part of the toys, like the hands, head, front breastplate etc., but they have incorporated those pieces to be built in with each character. The only things that aren’t, are Devastator’s two hands, and the gun. Even the gun was well thought out as it is six individual guns that are joined together to make one big gun for Devastator. The range of motion for each character is on par with how a G.I. Joe action figure would move; not like the immobile stiff plastic of the original. My critiques would be that when the arms come together to make Devastator, they hold well enough, but if bumped just right the arms fall off and have to be put back on. I wish they had made the channels and couplers slightly deeper to remedy that. Also the dump truck transformer is probably the most difficult to turn into a truck. These are not drastic problems nor take away from the fun of the toys.Considering most official Transformer toys are minimum $10 each and that’s for the small ones, I’d say this was a great quality and value for what you get.Might be challenging for kids under 10 years old unless they have played with a lot of Transformers.Be aware, the box shows the characters in yellow for some reason, but they are actually the neon green and purple like you would expect. And it's funny they call this King Kong God, not Devastator. My son loves it and so do I. I’m glad I got it for him.

Yeah, it;s a KO set. And the Quality shows
I bought this hoping for a Devastator set for my kid that wouldn't cost me 400 dollars, as collectors and scalpers snap up every officially licensed release. From the legs to the lower Torso, it's good quality. But whomever was responsible for the upper torso and arms should be fired. The arm attachment joints will not support the weight of the arms when attached if you do manage to get them to attach they'll fall off at the slightest provocation. I futz with this damn thing for an hour and it just falls apart the second you try to pose it. I would absolutely not hole up to a child playing with it. I'll be returning it.

Devastator!
Devastator has always been my favorite of all the combines from the G1 cartoon. When I was able to add this to my collection I could pass it up. I know it's not the exact G1 version but I think in ways it better. Definitely a perfect display piece.

Pretty good, no Tonka
The robots are very heavy duty. This is good for longevity, bad for building Devastator. The right leg doesn’t really attach and as others have said, it will fall apart easily at the arms. This is more of a build it and frame it type of toy. Or it can be a fun set of construction toys.

The good and bad
The good is: its a great Representation? Of devaatateor .The chest plate one side is very loose and won't stay where it's supposed to. Also when connecting "hook ,bonecrusher, scavenger . Together it requires a lot of forse to get them to stick, also the connection to "hook and long hall " is a pain because there is not enough space for fingers to help connect them"

So much better than expected for the price
Mine showed up pretty fast and was way nicer, and even a little larger than expected. Bigger than the "core" class transformers, but not quite as big as the "deluxe" size toys. A mix of die cast and plastic, the bots feel solid.

This does not stay put together
It is very frustrating for the kids cause they can't play with it properly cause it doesn't stay together. It's still a lot of money for something that doesn't stay together. We had to put duct tape on the arms and torso because my kid didn't want to return it cause he wanted it so much😔

When all the robots come together it is very difficult for it to stay together.
I’m really disappointed with the final result when I combined all the robots to make the big robot called Devastator from the transformers cartoon. Both right and left arms don’t stay on very well because the weight of the design of the double pin which is worthless to stay into the shoulders of the main robot. The upper area of Devastator where the big head is has an issue staying on the torso below. In the back there are two pieces that come together they go into a tiny hole and in the front you have to connect two pins that are asymmetrical to stay on which they don’t at all because there’s no way of getting your fingers in there to push down the parts to stay. We had a similar issue with another generic robot kit that was very similar to this one but a little smaller and it was junkier than this one. I don’t understand when these makers designing this don’t trial and error what they go through to make this playable. Sure, some people will put together and put it on their self but my seven-year-old son wants to play with it. This is not made for kids because they’re not getting the play out of it. For adults I don’t have the time to keep putting the arms on this damn thing because I keep falling off. The gun is a combination of six guns that come together that add more weight to the arm to make it even more difficult for it to stay on the body of the robot.
